Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

The listed weight of a modern 9. I think it’s impossible to get a sense of what’s a good weight these days given the outrageous claims by some of these teams. Isaac Henry is listed at 94kg which I think is actually probably honest and he’s huge compared to almost all 9s.

BR, I think it won't just be the halves. His comments about not knowing his best team for a while and the captaincy likely being a one week thing seems to me to be preparing punters for absolute mass rotations. As a fan, that makes me nervous and I'd really prefer we run it back same teams...

They’re essentially doing the Smith/Dagg thing anyway where they’re both actually fullbacks.

BA has always been a little shitter than Qantas but because they’re poms they think it’s great. It’s fallen at an even greater rate of knots.

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is a tricky one. He does have an edge to him that no one else really has in this team. We saw that last night somewhat but I thought he stood out as not really applying the same principles as the rest of the team in securing ball and ruck work more generally.

Are we doing 321s this year? Would be many candidates without too many absolute superstars, ie the sign of a team effort.

Think Daugunu’s contribution has gone through these pages a little underrated. Great try but more than that his physicality essentially shut down the Welsh strategy of applying pressure in defence on his edge, combined with excellent kicking from Gordon. Gives so much value in tight and at...

I would have guessed Kolbe and Faf had double those caps. It is so enviable overall though.

Cale is definitely going to get his shot but some of these comments about Wright not being up to it are a little hysteric. He’s had a great season, never had a bad season actually, never been bad for the Wallabies, and gives us what we need most in the current backrow stocks - lineout...

I may be in the minority but I have always been impressed by Pietsch live. He’s a Rob Horne type player with very good fundamentals in contact. Wright did dominate a few hit ups this year and Kellaway is safe in contact but not in the same manner as Pietsch. He’s very different from those two so...

    Ballymore Redevelopment

Agree we need stadiums like this in a growing city like Brisbane but QRU should be opposed to developing Perry Park given that if Ballymore were to be developed into a similar type of ground with about 10-20k seating they would remain the owners and receive the benefits. Ballymore would be...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Kind of weird how his career ended. A madman didn't select him but you have to think that at 32 if he went back to a Super team he probably would be selected at least for squads in the future. Hopefully he's moving on to absolutely cash in or follow other passions because he's earnt it.
