    Australian Schoolboys 2014

So, Newbie, I stand corrected. The hooker I saw run on with the ball as captain was leading the NZ Baa Baas side out. The captain of the NZ #1 side was indeed Ioane, as you pointed out. I had the wrong game in mind ;-)

Agreed. However, with Australia's 'A' side on the park (ie, not their experimental and reserves side) one would think they'll have a red hot go. Despite a few bad one-on-one missed tackles, I thought NZ should have beaten Aust by much more with such a massive advantage all match - the Aust boys...

Craig played 2/6/7 for Eastwood 1st and 2nd grade colts this season. I believe he plays 2/3/6/7/8 for his school team, depending on where the greatest need is for any given match.

Here's a link to that story Lee mentions on Rugby HQ last Thursday: http://www.schoolsrugby.com.au/2014/news/fox-sports-rugby-hq-story/

Match report from the Australian Schools Rugby site (http://www.schoolsrugby.com.au/): Fiji Schools started the match well with a try mere seconds after kick off, scoring directly underneath the posts after Australia’s defence was unable to account for an aerial raid from Fiji. Fiji converted...

Supposed to have study time during camp and on tour, but there hasn't been much spare time at all apparently. They'll have a week on return to swot up, but missing 2 weeks in preparation is a big ask. Shame about the timing, as even the extra 5 Atar points they get at some Uni's is little...

I believe young Goddard arrived in NZ a day or two late due to a death in the family. Likely to be the reason for the switch for game 1.

    Waratah Cup/ Shield 2014

I agree 100% with Lee - exemplary on-field attitude and behaviour from both teams. There were a couple of very minor chest-beating moments, but the game was played in excellent spirit and either team could have won on the day. As Lee said in his report - it was a shame that one team had to...

    Waratah Cup/ Shield 2014

The result was Epping Boys 13 def Brisbane Waters 12. A great result for the same High School to win the State-wide knockout in both 16s (Buchan Shield) and Opens (Waratah Cup). I noticed that the inimitable L.Grant esq was at both the Waratah Cup and Shield Games, so hopefully there'll be a...

    Waratah Cup/ Shield 2014

First results through in today's State knockout finals: Buchan Shield U16s - Epping Boys High School 19 def Griffith High School 17. Nail biting match which see-sawed all game and could have gone either way. Griffith had some large units who hit the opposition's line continuously, while Epping...

Interestingly, Craig played #7 in his school's 44-0 win over Muirfield HS in the Sydney State Schools Grand Final at TGMilner this week. He's also been wearing the #6 (or possibly #7) jumper in Eastwood Colts 2s and 1s in recent weeks... Listed at #2 for Eastwood Colts 2s this weekend.

Quote above lifted from the GPS thread. Anyone able to confirm Vuni's status? And if so, who's the next cab off the rank in the shadow players?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

A score like 52 - 6 shows total dominance or great weakness. Didn't see the game but games with those scores are a little embarrassing to watch generally and leave the crowd in no doubt of the superiority of the winning team.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2014

The tour starts on September 20th, but still lots of time to recover. A player can be selected for the National Schoolboys side even if they don't play one minute in this tournament, as long as the reason they aren't playing is injury. So, if a player has played, and is now injured, they can and...
