ARU moves to kill off club player payments: A 3rd tier, club rugby and the $60k persuader

I don't want to watch amalgamations of teams play - end of. Thats why the ARC failed - there needs to be history involved. When it comes to third their, for me you either have top clubs each year from each state playing off in a post season (say top 5 sydney, top 4 brisbane, top Canberra team...

    Wallaby Locks - The Future

We have 1 test standard lock and he is often injured. It's a pretty big problem IMO.

    Wallaby Locks - The Future

I think a wider player might be exactly what we need given that we are trying to play with a bit more width lately. Etzebeth does a lot of good ruck work but he does get around the field and play a bit wider, and it is super effective.

    Wallaby Locks - The Future

I think second row is easily the weakest area of the wallaby team at the moment. Simmons and Douglas are holding their spots almost by default. Horwill is a good player but is under a constant injury cloud. Timani is trying to get out of Australia as soon as possible. Fardy and MMM are seen...

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

I reckon lealiifano is only in the team for his goal kicking, and once Godwin matures a bit he will play 12 with Lilo becoming the reserve flyhalve on the bench. JOC (James O'Connor) taking the kicks.

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

I just don't understand why Slipper is playing LH. He's going to have to specialise with the new rules and he plays TH for the reds most of the year why change his side for the wallabies. The wallabies only hope of success is Horwill, Pocock, Higginbotham staying fit for an extended period...

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

That game summed up rugby in this country. Shit crowd, no atmosphere. Uninspired performance by a team with 0 ability to execute with any sort of consistency. We need a new tight 5 before the world cup.

Australia v Argentina, Sept 14th in Perth

There is an interesting section in Rod Mcqueens book about the defensive system and how they broke the field into 4 sections in order to organise themselves and recognise threats. I've tried it with a schoolboy team and it worked well. But I imagine its not all that effective at pro level as...

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

I think Link should pick O'Connor at 13 once Speight is eligible and Godwin is fit. Godwin - O'Connor - Speight Our own (shitter) version of Nonu - Smith - Savea.

    Reds 2014

Yeah sign this bloke up, he can replace Robbo in a season or so. And if he's good enough he could push gilly as well.

Time for some second row bolters? How about link picks Skelton and that bloke from Eastwood.

Would have liked to see Sio starting but I guess we will need his impact in the later stages of the game.

He is aboriginal though. League internationals are mickey mouse. I bet if Slater and Boyd weren't around Hoffman would have declared for Queensland.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

I think Terrace is the big brother in years. Nudgee the big brother in premierships obviously. Terrace still churn out more wallabies though. Great rivalry - what schoolboy rugby is actually about.

    Reds 2014

I think Josh Hoffman would be a worthy buy on a 2 year contract. If it doesnt work out Toua or Tuilagi will hopefully step up, and Placid is on the way through as well.

100+ years of rivalry. It's never been about competition points.

Australia vs South Africa - Brisbane 7th Sept 2013

I think the boks are a team on the rise. Certainly a more threatening proposition than they were 2 years ago, even without the stars like Matfield and Botha. Once Goosen sorts himself out they could be anything. But their players will be feeling all the travel and winning in Brisbane is never...

    Rebels 2014

While it would no doubt be a risk to go in with 3 rookie flyhalves; the rebels don't have a lot of options, and from an Australian Rugby point of view it is better that they give promising youngsters a shot rather than just fall back on Hilgendorf or some half baked kiwi journeyman. Have to...

    Western Force 2014

The anabolic steroids in question are most probably testosterone, which can either be injected or swallowed. But I've heard swallowing it ruins your liver. They mostly assist in muscle recovery, so you can go harder in the gym more often. Adverse health effects almost certainly depends on how...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I think they prefer public glassings to shanking nowadays.
