Who is rumoured for EPS spots? Burton, Lacey, Hoskins + the token saffa and kiwi journeyman?

I think basic skills execution, under pressure and fatigue, is the most important thing the wallabies need to work on. They just let themselves down far too often. For the springboks tests - Folau needs to be at 15, and we need cummins size to get over the game line. I'd like to see us try...

Has to be Cummins surely. I think on paper the force squad is approaching the strength of the Brumbies sqaud at the start of 2012. But I highly doubt they will go as far this season as the brumbies did in 2012.

I don't necessarily think the bolded part is true. There was a feeling, especially around 2009-11, that Deans and Elsom were far too reserved in the face of AB bending the rules and getting away with it. For the record I don't think you can blame the All Blacks, they play to the ref, which I...

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

I would have started Sio and Cooper. Maybe even Cooper at 15. He probably has the most accurate kicking game and the second longest after Mogg. But then again, I still flinch every time he is one on one. I also reckon Cooper is carrying an injury.

A quick drive around the streets of the area will tell you all you need to know about it's residents. Nearly every street is full of speed bumps and/or those one lane winding speed traps in the middle of two lane roads. I think the word is precious.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that a school's reputation suffers more for forfeiting a game rather than losing it. Let Nudgees b team play, they're probably better than most A teams in the competition anyway.

It's absolute lunacy that these teams are picked before any meaningful rugby is played for the year.

    Shute Shield 2013

Even at full strength I reckon Sydney Uni would struggle against super rugby sides. For what it's worth, full strength Sunnybank would have to be close to the best club side in the country. PAE, Anae, Holmes, Simmons, AWH, Ah Wong, Gill, Shatz, Lucas x 2, Kingi, Tapuai, Ioane. Plus a few...

    Rebels 2014

I agree with signing Australians, but the lack of high quality 3rd tier makes it hard to grasp how well they will step up. I think McIntyre could be lured away if the QRU decide they want Greene for the reds academy next year.

    Rebels 2014

Ben Seymour, who has played for the force and in sydney, played for northland last night and didn't embarrass himself. Kicked 6 from 6 and facilitated well. He might be worth bringing in to add a bit of depth at flyhalf for the rebels.

    Reds 2014

Murday played a cracking game yesterday in the ITM cup. I expect him to be on the fringe of the reds squad next season. Maybe AWH's replacement.

On the plus side, I thought our scrum would get destroyed and it actually held up alright. Simmons had a surprisingly good game. He's a stop gap until Pyle or Skelton step up, but better than Douglas and Timani. I'd like to see JOC (James O'Connor) left on the wing. The only way he is going to iron the...

Also if you hear racial abuse or ref abuse on the sidelines, instead of making unsubstantiated claims on a forum, maybe write an email to the principal. Schools take this stuff very seriously and would no doubt take action.

I thought that 5, 6 and 7 were all very good for terrace. I think the 5 will end up playing blindside or number 8 in the future as he won't be tall enough to play lock after school, but a bloody good performance moving bodies and making metres on the fringes. Horan looks like a young bernie...

Phipps isn't a great loss. He's the most average halfback to play for Australia in a long time. No point paying a bloke like that mega bucks when you have brugo and the ranga waiting in the wings.

What do you make of Benji Marshal to rugby?

I for one am excited by the prospect of watching Marshall next year. I'm not a blues fan or a Marshall fan, but I like to see talented players playing good rugby, and I hope Marshall is able to do that.

The heart of the problem really is depth in Australian Rugby. We have 3 top quality flyhalves in Cooper, To'omua and Foley; as well as Holmes. But we don't have 5. NZ is much the same, they have Carter, Cruden and Barrett. Slade also as the forth, but like the rebels, the highlanders...
