Dalton(J) is going to have a busy afternoon, playing against himself in both the Blue and White teams. I'm guessing they meant Saar(J) in the Whites at No4, since he's disappeared off the reserves list and plays No4?

what - get some recording on a loudspeaker over the top of 50,000 pissed scousers yelling and shouting out of tune? Give us a break. The Joeys walk-on has evolved into its own identity now - as discordant and badly out of rhythm as it is. Remember Boydy is still the "choirmaster" and he can't...

Henry O'Kane is the son of Kevin O'Kane, ex-Joe-boy and current strength and conditioning coach for Joeys, and Gordon legend of yesteryear. Owns and operates the North Shore Gym at Pymble. Henry is a centre-turned No6, so he could, at a stretch, be called a back.

It's pretty obvious (in hindsight) what a difference it makes to a backline when you don't have the regular 10. Ben Dowling is a very good footballer, but he ain't a 10, and it showed. With Gibbs out the backs were crabbing laterally all day, with no-one straightening the attack - this was...

why were Joeys 16As playing Oakhill 16As (they put 60 points on them) when Barker's 16As look to be the stronger team? As I understand it, the decision on who out of Barker and Oakhill plays the A side from Joeys depends on previous week's result between them. Did Oakhill 16As beat Barker 16As???

not suggesting any hanky-panky, noey, just that you don't expect such a shortage of props/hookers in the top grade. I must say that a certain Mr Pollard was conspicuously absent from the program.

most of the 2nd half at HH had uncontested scrums after a Barker prop was subbed off and replaced by a flanker. Very disappointing as Joeys scrum was dominant in the 1st half. James Leckie (ref) had no choice but to accept Barker's word that they had no suitable replacement - curious

The Joeys boys attended the Anzac Dawn Service in Victoria Park with a very large crowd at 5:30am. The MC made special mention that in the true spirit of Anzac, the Joeys squad included both a Wallaby and an All Black amongst the staff. Special prize to anyone who can name them...

Hardly a "mini-camp", Joker. 55 boys + ~20 staff arrived in Dubbo at lunchtime Monday and trained / drilled / played internal trials until lunchtime today (Saturday). The squad was superbly hosted by various establishments in Dubbo - most pubs in Dubbo appear to be owned by Joeboys - and had...

does anyone know how this Academies business works, and how the representative teams for the newly named "Australian Schoolboys and U18s" are selected, and when? The whole rep scene for schoolboy rugby is a dog's breakfast, and has been for a long time now. In the old days (ahem), rep teams...
