    Crusaders v Blues a.k.a. NZ's festum odii

fuck those odds aren't bad. the Blues might be worth a punt. Still, I can't remember the last time the Saders lost 2 on the trot at home. I won a bunch of money on the Chiefs last week, but I think the Saders might sneak home this week.

Reds vs Force Round 2 2016

This might be the first year I'd picked the Reds to lose this fixture. sigh

    Worst Commentator Pole Action

For the most part I enjoy Kafer's analysis of the game. At the same time he has an obsession with pointing out that he thinks the ref got the call wrong, particularly when the ref's call went in favour of the Aussie side. literally 5 times a game. It pisses me off. It's like he wants to seem so...

    The Wallabies Thread

Actually I think its fair to say he had his moments at THP too. From memory he had a really strong year at THP for the Wallabies in 2009 (? 2010?) was decent at the 2011 world cup. Unfortunately he had some fairly glaring holes in his technique that he seemingly never addressed. Still, to this...

    The Wallabies Thread

true. still its germane to this discussion. There is no point in us having 3 top quality LHPs if we have no quality THP options. I'm sure Cheika has his eye on at least one prospect, but I also assume one of Smith/Slipper/Sio is on the radar to transition over time. I might be completely wrong...

    The Wallabies Thread

You know why they moved Alexander to TH? Because we needed a tighthead. If he hadn't have moved to TH our front row would have been even shitter than it was between 2010 and 2013. Without Alexander at TH from 2010 to 2013 I shudder to think what we would have done.

    The Wallabies Thread

Agree, we'd need him to become a specialist THP if we plan to use him there. I suppose I'm saying that of the options, he seems like to most obvious to be developed as our premier THP. After Kepu and Holmes he's played THP for the Wallabies more than any other players kicking around. Plus I know...

    The Wallabies Thread

I definitely wouldn't move Sio from LHP. I'd rate him up there with the likes of Corbisiero as the world's best LHP. Slipper as i understand has always been fairly versatile. He's played THP for the Wallabies in the past and I see no reason that he couldn't become a quality test THP over time...

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

That's all true, but as we all know it's about adapting to the refs game, and Pocock failed miserably in that department.

    Reds 2016

Sweet. We'll swap you Frisby for Stizaker? Truth be told, i don't have authority to make trades for the Reds, and if I did I would have already traded Richard Graham for a can of coke.

Brumbies vs Hurricanes Round 1 2016

Pocock certainly had an off night at the breakdown. His timing was off. I'd say he has a bad game, but I'm quite sure he still caused the Canes massive problems at the breakdown. Hard to pick too many holes in the Brumbies' performance, but one thing I noticed on Friday was that things fell...

    Reds 2016

Who is the genius that is responsible for the Reds attacking structure? That game last night was so frustrating. We had plenty of decent ball, but our attack would best be described as impotent. McIntyre and Frisby are certainly to blame for ensuring our backline consistently received the...

    Brisbane Global Rugby Tens

personally I've always been a bit of a 15s purist. While I enjoy a bit of 7s, i never get too excited about it. Nevertheless, I think the success of the recent Sydney 7s event shows that the format appeals to the mainstream public that maybe wouldn't be big fans of 15 man rugby. I guess a lot of...

Any chance this game might find its way on to YouTube. I'm out and about tonight but wouldn't mind watching the replay.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Interesting reading back over this thread, knowing what we know now. Not too many outlandish comments. Overall the debate was pretty bang on. In the end, both players in the starting line-up, showed that nearly everyone was right to some extent. (save for those people that said you can't play...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

He's got his hands full with Sean McMahon I'd say. I really expect McMahon to start challenging Hooper for that spot.

Pre Season '16: Stormers vs Jaguares

The Argies might have been the 4th best team at the world cup, but they were comfortably beaten by Australia twice last year, and they were comfortably beaten by the Kiwis twice. As Omar says, the top Super Rugby teams won't be that much of a step down. The Jags' games against the likes of the...
