New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

Yeh honestly I cringed when I saw Simmons come on the field late in the game. That mindless penalty at the end was embarrassing

I'm expecting the All Blacks to bounce back next week Also a game like that surely can't hurt the ongoing contract negotiations for RA

I will say I thought the ref stitched us up in the scrum. gave the All Blacks two free kicks on our feed before they even packed down. But the most telling moment was when the Wallabies had a clear push over scrum late in the game and he refused to give us a penalty. literally 2 minutes later...

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

Decent first half from the wallabies, but the fact that they are behind despite having the bulk of the possession and territory shows they have a lot to work on. All Blacks on the other side made the most of their chances - a sign of a polished side. Hopefully the wallabies can keep this up and...

Not sure what this adds to the discussion but ok

I cant agree. From my perspective the Wallabies were a shambles in 2019. The big change in the titans was that they went from conceding an average of 30 points a game to 10 points. Thats a result of structures, attitude and fitness, not because of a few positional changes in the backs...

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

unfortunately I think the odds are probably about right. All Black 13+ started at about $1.73 that's slowly moved down to $1.50. the line is -19.5...Lots of money going on a big NZ win. New coach with, presumably, a completely new game plan and approach to cheika. basically a new tight five...

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

Bit surprised to see Slipper starting. I must say I haven't been paying particularly close attention to him this season but my perception of him in 2020 is as a average scrummager that makes limited impact in general play. Is that unfair? Is he just there to add some experience or am I missing...

    Wallabies 2020

I wouldnt be starting 2 OS locks, but i think it would be ideal to have 2 in the squad. U have to walk a fine line between blooding new locks and being competitive against nz/sa. Other than LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), (who's played mostly at 6 at test level) which other locks would you feel comfortable selecting...

    Wallabies 2020

Agree that he probably wont go with mcmahon even though i think mcmahon is likely at the top of the list of players rennie would like to bring into the side (he's in the prime of his career) In terms of which locks you choose, itll come down to which players rennie rates and/or sees fitting in...

Super Rugby Rnd 10: Reds v Brumbies 5 Sept

Fuck Petaia is something special. He's like a mix between folau (with his ability to beat the first defender) and SBW (with his defense and offload ability). Every time he gets the ball he looks likely to cause problems

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Also, didn't the Rebels beat the Highlanders in NZ earlier this year? They're clearly not cannon fodder.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Honestly I think New Zealand will feel they are left with no option but to go it alone now. They've nailed their colours to the mast. Conceding to RA's demands at this stage would be seen as kowtowing, something I doubt the higher-ups, or the New Zealand public, would be willing to stomach.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I gotta say I like RA's proposal. If they do indeed have a Super 8 tournament, my preference is for the 5 Aussie teams to go it alone with the Fijian Drua. I've found myself surprisingly invested in the Aus Super comp. I like how the Aussie teams are the focus. Whilst it would love to see us...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm a bit torn at the moment in terms of what I'd like to see next year. I didn't think I'd enjoy an all Aussie comp but I'm finding it surprisingly enjoyable. Add in a Drua team, maybe one more and I'd tune in. Just not sure how commercially viable that is. If we go in the Trans tasman...

    Wallabies 2020

Agree with all of this. I would have thought that Rennie wouldn't want to throw Harrison or Lolesio to the wolves too soon. I expect we'll see To'omua or JOC (James O'Connor) starting initially, letting the younger guys dip their toes in the test rugby waters as Rennie builds his side. On the plus side Lolesio...

    Wallabies 2020

No way Rennie would have any interest at all in Foley. JOC (James O'Connor), Lolesio and To'omua would all be in front of him.

Is Solomane Kata eligible to play for the Wallabies?

    Wallabies 2020

Skelton definitely looks to be a better player than when he left, although I suspect he benefiting from being in a team with a bunch of other world class locks who can hide his deficiencies. Not sure I'd want to build a line out around him. TBH - Hockings is more likely a guy I'd want to...

    Wallabies 2020

I really hope they make this change. I've been saying for a while the rule should be that the Coach can only select a small number of overseas players in the game day 23. Two or three would work. It's a better system because:- 1. we are quickly getting to the point where most of our best players...
