I'd be VERY surprised if Merrylands can't throw out 2 grades each week. A large contingent of our (Dukes) 2nds last year transferred there for the season.

Another 2 to add to the list - Kings OBs and Roseville. Both bitten the dust this last offseason. Kings OBs with a feint glimmer of a club as they may have a couple of Halligan's games this year. Roseville looks to have gone 100% after a couple of seasons with struggling numbers.

RE: Running two grades - Dukes are looking like we'll be thereabouts (approx same numbers as last season).

Last years Blacktown 1sts at full strength would have been a treat to watch play against some higher divisions...

Any ideas on player retention from season to season? What works and what doesn't? Would appreciate any input on this...

Have a specific memory of the Engadine fullback/winger running back a kick into a spear tackle. Referee put the whistle to his mouth and thought against it since it was right in front of the Matto crowd. Miss the good old days of Matto rugby...

Is it time already for the NRC to disappear? My thoughts are a resounding yes. Why not drop the competition back to the remaining 4 super rugby teams and have them play a home and away series (pre game to the Super match)? To me it makes too much sense to drop the amount of teams from 8 to 4...

Just from a quick look at the Illawarra and Central Coast rugby sites, both teams couldn't be too thrilled with their 2017. Both are well out of the race for semis in ALL grades. But then again, winning isn't everything...

Maybe time for Subbies in general to look at changing kickoff times? From memory most if not all grounds I've played at this season have lights. Push the times forward by 2 hours. 1sts is played under lights starting at 5.15pm? Perhaps change the timings of the game too for grades to 30 min...
