Round 8: Moana Pasifika v Qld Friday April 12

Interesting to see Angus make his way in. Cormac has been solid, albeit not flashy but also I don't remember anything bad he's done. I thought Lynagh has done enough to stay in the 23 though. Lawson will need to have another positive impact in this game though.

If you simply ignore Max winning the race, everything else is pretty competitive. But I swear anyone complaining about the competitiveness is new to the sport. The last 2 decades has largely been the same person and or two teams winning; Vettel, Hamilton, Rosberg and now Verstaphen. Go back...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Bloody awesome to see, fantastic for the younger members of the squad to get extra high level games under the belt in a tour environment. Are we still doing the games against the Japanese teams? Would be great to see them play two games or so in Japan then jump over to the UK.

Yeah it's quite interesting comparing F1 to Cycling which is almost an identical model. The TdF is the most watched event every year but we constantly see cycling teams fold because sponsors pull out and the TV coverage money they get is not significant enough to cover all teams operating costs...

    Super Rugby General Chat

Sure that’s definitely a worry. At the same time, has Super Rugby thanks to the Crusaders or International rugby thanks to the All Blacks over the last 20 years been any better?

They’re doing a new format from next year. Even if it’s a Mickey Mouse competition, the money is not; “The total prize money is around €2.5bn and an initial €2bn will be distributed among the 32 teams that book their plane tickets to the USA. Qualification therefore brings €50m as a minimum...

    Western Force 2024

Hear me out on this out there idea to solve this...... But, what if, when you play that team, you use fruits instead of colours and say Cheetahs when its the forwards ball instead of "rhino, rhinoes"....

Cool idea, but like all things in Rugby, poor execution. The competition only runs every 4 years??? Fans won't give a crap about it. Just run it every year like football does.

    Western Force 2024

Pardon my ignorance. Recruiting KB (Kurtley Beale) is made even worse when you see Henry Speight playing premier grade for wests then………….

Pretty simple innit? “Shit, we’ve got injuries and don’t have a young fly half in club competitions to give an opportunity to.” “Who’s available and still desperate to chase the dragon of playing professional rugby”….

    Queensland Reds 2024

Yeap picked up three tickets myself, managed to get our current seats. Feels bloody nice to "only" pay $65 for a premium seat these days.

The Reds backline is still very green. You're bang on James's physical attributes, but, I think having James in the mid field guiding Lynagh/HMP and the rest would do wonders to help them read the game.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Hah with statements like this, are you at all surprised at the financial hole the Rebels have gotten themselves into? Is playing 50-60 minutes 10 times a year really that hard for a 20 something year old?

    Wallabies 2024

Nice one Derpus, I wouldn't mind seeing how this goes. Onl thing I would like to see is Kerevi at 12 just to give Noah the "o shit" offload option.

    Queensland Reds 2024

I thought similar until I saw the match stats and the Brumbies had a worse line out than we did. So I'm optimistic that while it's a dip the Brumbies are one of the best lineout teams. For me, everything seems to be pointing in the right direction bar ball retention. Constantly turning over...

    Round 6: Reds v Brumbies

Thanks for that BR. This last sentence makes me pause for concern with how the modern international game is currently at and weve seen guys similar to this ala Michael Hooper having to put size on. Sounds like he is promising but I'm a fan of Morgan Turinui's saying; seeing a body of work...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

With how close Eloff is to West's, I'd be hoping Queensland is able to find him a home because the doggies could always do with reinforcements after super finishes!

    Round 6: Reds v Brumbies

I'm finding it hard to believe we're hearing about ineffective ball carriers by the Reds when it's 708 vs 413 metres made by the Reds.....

    Round 6: Reds v Brumbies

Thanks for the heads up. Sorry, somehow amongst life of packing and unpacking a house, attending a wedding along with two under 4, I missed the 5 other games this rookie has played. I can only imagine of the free time of being able to watch every Reds and Brumbies game week in week out!

    Round 6: Reds v Brumbies

Where am I wrong? The Brumbies as an overall unit played better even though they lost the the individual match ups.
