    Northern Hemisphere Rugby

It's an odd situation because there will be French Internationals who don't count as JIFF to my understanding. Anyway, JIFF is an EU loophole workaround with unintended consequences, not a sneaky way for them to get young foreigners in. Saying "Xplayers signed across your main squad and academy...

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby

It's JIFF rather than French per se, I think it's rolling average of 16, or lose competition points, are given access to additional funding if it's over 17, and can be fined for any individual match with fewer than 12.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Get fucked Binge lmao. The YouTube premium dropoff is interesting. If that's replicated elsewhere you can see why Google is looking to make AdBlockers formally against TOS for their Chrome suite.

Rugby players lost to other sports

He'll probably end up on some AFL scholarship in a couple of years knowing the way their scouts operate.

Having no NRC is better how?

    The performance of the two other South African sides in the Pro14 were this in 2018/2019 season: Cheetahs - 6th of 7 in Conference A [W8 | D1 | L12 | PD -65] Kings - 7th of 7 in Conference B - [W2 | D1 | L18 | PD -350] And the following in the truncated season: Cheetahs - 4th of 7 in...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

NFL Redzone seems like the obvious solution to that particular problem. Doesn't really have an analogue in Union though. Outside the European Cup there's rarely a situation where within a single competition where more then 2 games are going on simultaneously.

    Wallabies 2024

League Centers and Unions Centers seem like positions which require the same sort of physicality and skillset but have such stark differences in positioning mindset, particularly in defence, that it wouldn't surprise me that one doesn't necessarily translate to another.

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

I presume it's primarily because the graphics and jerseys etc. are already made, but interesting that they're using the Rebels branding rather than enforcing a Rugby VIC/Axemen etc. one, given that the Rebels have seemingly been a "we don't talk about it" subject from the Rugby Australia and...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I mean WR (World Rugby) will want to ensure that they get as much of that slice of pie as possible right? Without taking the scale of numbers as gospel, $25 million is bigger than $20 million even if the total pot Nine/Stan is paying comes to $90 million total rather than $100 million for each, and WR (World Rugby) can't...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

His last two years weren't amazing but 2020-2022 showed tonnes of promise, I'd be surprised to not see him get a decent deal somewhere at 26, he's still got plenty of time left in his career.

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I'm very pleased, between his durability, consistency and overall skillset he's going to take a lot of pressure off Zander and the younger tightheads in a way that Sordoni and Pierreto never managed to. With this news plus Kailea signing for the Tahs, Pone looks to be the last man standing.

Rugby players lost to other sports

Rowan Marshall from St Kilda is one that would probably be in the Super Rugby system if his parents moved to country Queensland/NSW instead of country VIC from Taranaki. 201cm, hundred and something kilos at AFL playing weight, soft hands, loves a tackle, has Rugby Pedigree: cousins with Rhys...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I did see that in Doran's column on The Roar, alongside Maiava, Kailea and Dobbins, but I'm keeping them all in the "not formally announced group" mentally for now. As stated, he's probably 1 of the group of 4 for whom you would have expected to see "something" be happening for, and I'm glad...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I'm perhaps slightly surprised there's not been another 3 or 4 European contracts, but other than that it doesn't really seem that contentious. The Japanese and American seasons are ages away: unless you were planning on going already I can imagine that neither of those groups would be keen to...

David Feliuai was confirmed for the Brumbies last week: https://brumbies.rugby/news/brumbies-sign-david-feliuai-for-2025-super-rugby-pacific-tilt-2024730 Lukas Ripley still has an Australian Contract for 2025 but was named in the Hawke's Bay Squad for the 2024 NPC...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

That was my understanding for the GB program, none of the Unions were interesting in stumping money to run the combined program so the only revenue is Sponsors + Olympic government investment + WR (World Rugby) Covering Flight and Accom. If they were making money outside of that I don't know where it's going.
