    Celebrating the Rebels

Props are so hard to get right at the best of times, but it definitely felt like Australian teams struggled all throughout the 2010s (and possibly longer) getting sustained improvement out of props who weren't super rugby starters by 21, 22.

    Australian Rugby / RA

A home and away competition with 11 teams and a 6 team finals series requires 25 competition weeks: presuming that a week off is required between super rugby finals and the opening game of the mid-year tours, that would require commencing the Super competition on the first weekend in January.

    Celebrating the Rebels

We hadn't quite figured out social media in 2011 had we. That would be 5 or 6 one minute tiktoks/shorts/reels nowadays

    Hurricanes v Rebels QF June 7 2024

I also believe we will be humped. Our away results have been: 6 point win vs MP (Moana Pasifika) 26 point loss vs Canes 6 Point win vs Tahs 39 point loss vs Crusaders 4 point loss vs Reds 36 point loss vs Brumbies 21 point loss vs Drua Not good signs.

    Waratahs 2025

Is HTS on a multi year deal? I would imagine RA would want to be OK-ing as few foreign props as possible with 5 coming onto the market plus Robertson returning for the Force.

    Wallabies 2024

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) was originally meant to be back for either Drua or first round playoffs per the Rebels injury update in... early April, I think? The most recent one was slightly less optimistic but still sounded like progress was being made.

    Celebrating the Rebels

Based on the impact/longevity I think they had for the club rather than pure best, I would say this is my team. The sheer turnover makes it difficult. Honourable mentions to our various captains (Mortlock, Higgers, Stirzaker, Coleman, DHP.) much of our season 1 team, the Japanese contingent, and...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Absolute shitfest lol. I've got no idea what they'll be bringing up here. Foley's unearned top up back in the 13/14 offseason to keep him at the Tahs?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Something which is not considered is the state of our Suburban Rugby Grounds. I love them, but between the Cricket pitches and the drainage basin, the potential risks of injury are crazy high compared to dedicated grounds in Brisbane and Sydney.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I'm not certain Foote is an amazing Head coach. His background with the current Rebels squad and having learned a lot lessons from being a part of the amalgamation of squads gone wrong back in 2018 and an understanding of how not to do it again makes him a reasonable choice for the Tahs for 2...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I'll have some of whatever you're smoking stillmissit. 2023 was more or less identical rugby to this year, just less polished and more volatile.

    Celebrating the Rebels

I'm struggling to find highlights, but the final round game against the Highlanders in 2013 has to be one of the most "rebels" games of all time. 7-31 down at the break, 38-37 win. Roberts, Woodward, English, Sidey, Vuna, Hegarty, Phipps, Delve, Fuglistaller, Saffy, Neville, Pyle, Weeks...

    Celebrating the Rebels

This is one of the memories that has been brought up for me over the , particularly around the discussions Stan have had around the Brumbies and the Reds breaking long droughts (home or away) against the Crusaders. Big game: round 1 away to the Saders, year 2 under McGahan. Lost a couple of...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

I'd imagine it depends on who's going to keep getting paid,, who's not got an offer and needs every opportunity to show themselves off, and who's got an overseas offer they'll be demanding a release for.

Whatever the case on the specifics, the Tahs books were much much worse than RA had anticipated.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I think the Rebels are probably goneski forever. I don't think there's quite enough goodwill or opportunity for continuity attached to the brand to make a return workable outside a maybe a one-off farewell against the BILs made up of former types that will still be in and around Super next...
