I don't think he thought Gordon was going to get near him, happy to see someone better run out, but whoever is picked has to be prepared to chase kicks hard, defend hard and work hard to be an option for the kick receiver in counter

Pietsch has a very solid workrate - he works hard off the ball and defends quite effectively I agree on Gleeson, run will into brick walls all day, when he catches the ball

That fits with the Bed Darwin model of cohesion and why so few ponies (for the aus example) demonstrate the same level quality when turning out for a shittier program

Does anyone have the stats of metres/inches post contact? I think we just don't focus enough on leg drive and getting through the tackle Run metres can be skewed by a couple of big runs against shit sides like the Tahs

Super Rugby Final 2024. Blues v Chiefs, June 22.

I think the Blues defence will be the key There is a hardness and ruthlessness about them I just can't see the Chiefs finding the space they did on Saturday

Blues v Brumbies SF Fri June 14 2024

He reminded me of Kaplin, the rulings were correct, the decisions on what rule was chosen had the outcome of making the game shittier

Blues v Brumbies SF Fri June 14 2024

The ref was average but they didn't lose the game because of him His refereeing made it difficult for both sides to gain any rhythm The game was won by the Blues defense I hadn't seen a ponies side so often resort to dumb, desperation grubber kicks for a long, long time
