    Queensland Reds 2024

I’d think a sabattical program maybe comes into play here whether officially or unofficially. it should be the norm to offer with talented players with 25+ Caps or so who are still in the frame. Maybe he does 2025 in aus and 2026 in Japan and 2027 in aus Frees up money for RA.

    Round 2: Rebels v Force 8pm - 1st March

Laugh dislike all you want but we aren’t making finals AGAIN.

    Round 2: Rebels v Force 8pm - 1st March

I think the momentum is really moving towards 3-4 Australia teams with the talent better concentrated domestically. hard to make a case for Melbourne outside of potential really. More games and Brumbies play 3 in Melbourne? I think less teams with better quality and more games is needed...

    Super Rugby General Chat

It’s a terrible jdea Will be a b team now and is bad time zone. I agree. Ok depth in aus isn’t there. Make Melbourne rebels have allowances to sign as many local and arg / SA / USA / CAD players ( the latter two have a hard time getting contracts in Europe) Maybe rebels have the best 3 CAD...

    Super Rugby General Chat

This is a poor comparison. Tennis and cycling are more event based sports not league sports. Same as athletics. Not sure if this is in terms of watching or participating? The same graph probably says soccer is the most popular in aus but behold the a league

    Super Rugby General Chat

super rugby mismanagement definitely an issue with crowds for sure though. but the crowds aren't huge in the premier league or the celtic league. france crowds can be huge but these are also small markets with nothing else going on. i've been to montpellier etc and that's what the town does on...

    Super Rugby General Chat

I think it is worth while keeping mind of not just ball in play time but what constitutes ball in play. to this end the new offside rule re kicking is great. that endless back and forth is uninteresting even for a big fan like me. i look at the nfl as a great example and the ball in play is like...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Fully agree End of the day the performances have been consistently poor. I’ve been a supporter and constantly have friends telling me how shit the rebels are and “I thought they were supposed to have a good team” Results matter everywhere but especially in a new growth market. Quite annoying

Go to the top 5 news sites for Vegas and there is one article total on all the websites about the nrl which is 5th from the top saying “national rugby league running a free fan day….” This is going to be a phyric victory - maybe a big crowd but all Aussies in the USA or coming from aus.

    Aussie Player Exodus

I am on board with if you were born there, lived there for 5 years or your parents were born there as the stretch case. If I have an Italian mom - I’m going to feel pretty Italian. They are close on rules but need to cut out this my grandma bs. At this point it could be my grandma was born in...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Aus A should be in a pac nations tourney against USA, Canada, Tonga, Samoa and Uruguay. Can send NZ MĀORI anywhere and they will draw a crowd. Tours v Germany etc could be good

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Completely agree poor management of both is annoying but the baby out with the bath water talk of “I’ll never watch union again!” Give me a spell
  13. Sir Arthur Higgins

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Agreed. They get bailed out of their own poor management (which is what $20M debt is…..)
  14. Sir Arthur Higgins

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

So you don’t like the game?
  15. Sir Arthur Higgins

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Kind of crazy it got here. I mean sure the $1.7 got cut from 2020-2023 but that’s a total of $5.1M or maybe $6.8M. Far cry from $20M. I would guess that RA buys them from bankruptcy and starts them fresh again in some form and frankly the rebels and rugby Vic should be grateful if they do

    Australian Rugby / RA

The benefit of a super rugby au season after a SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) season would be 1) can play at maybe more profitable boutique stadiums, if you miss wallaby players, you’re playing against other teams missing wallaby players so it’s even. could make super pacific home and away for 22 games and home and away...

    Wallabies 2024

Tough crowd. Getting a pretty good game. I’d take an SA test over a wales test…..or a Georgia test. That said I think the bled should be at Allianz as home bush will probably draw 65k. Then you throw Georgia to Brissy. Guessing home bush and nsw paying up for the game.
