Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

A shame. Piedmont is lovely this time of year.

    Refereeing decisions

Unless you allow interchanges (which I think would be far worse), I don't think there's a reasonable way to solve it.

    Shute Shield 2024

Easts struggled to field sides after under 13s when I played juniors there in the '90s because almost everyone went to private schools. I think we had two kids in our junior side who went to a public high school. I think there's still a strong connection with the club and a lot of those...

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

I think you've got to put the kick-off reception problems largely down to Nick Frost given he was the recurring issue. On that basis it was hopefully one player not having a good game in that regard instead of a structural issue across the team. It seemed he was often starting too shallow so...

    Refereeing decisions

Frost was penalised for being offside in the maul. Doleman called him out and gave him a chance to get out without being penalised but he kept interfering.

    Wallabies 2024

Depends on the severity. He failed his HIA which means he absolutely can't play next weekend under the new protocols so it's not like there's a benefit to keeping him in Argentina to see how he goes. I would assume he has no lingering symptoms if he's flying home.

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

I think the underlying point here is that all our 10 options are pretty similar in terms of their current ability. Lolesio has had the most opportunity but likewise he's generally been the best in Super Rugby so deserves those opportunities. I can see why Schmidt is sticking with him. You may...

    Waratahs 2025

I think the starting backrow is pretty clearly Leota, Gamble, Gleeson. I'd put Hugh Sinclair and Fergus Lee-Warner ahead of Ben Grant as potential starters or bench players at either lock or in the backrow. Who knows what we will get with Ned Slack-Smith. Losing the entire season to concussion...

    Waratahs 2025

Is Ben Grant any more than a squad level player? I certainly don't think the Tahs should be aiming to have his as a starter and potentially not even on the bench of their first choice team.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Because there was literally one broadcaster offering significant money for rugby in Australia. The ARU had the option of going with it or becoming the Australian Cricket Board during World Series Cricket and fielding sides of below average players. The best players were going to be playing...

    Wallabies 2024

I think that is all reasonable. I agree that none of them are great athletes and Donaldson is the best of the three and Lolesio not particularly ahead of Lynagh in that regard. It's a bit of a negative view which I've expressed before but I don't think any of them will end up being long term...

    Wallabies 2024

I just think you need both to compete with the top few sides in the world in the modern game. 9 and 10 are probably the only positions where that is maybe more possible to do without being a supreme athlete but I think it is getting harder and harder. Most of the best players across all...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

The assistant referees were from England and Scotland and the foul play review officer was from Wales. Both the referee and TMO were from New Zealand. It was a very visible incident and South Africa remonstrated to some degree after it happened. There was also a stoppage in play at that time so...

Wallabies v Springboks, Sat 17th August 2024 Perth

I think it was because the whistle went right as it happened and Am jumped into the tackle. White can't disappear. He didn't make an attempt to tackle after Am jumped and just stood there to minimize whatever happened next.

    Wallabies 2024

I think all the options do this to a reasonable degree in Super Rugby but I don't think any of them are obviously good enough to become consistently good test players. I like Lynagh as well but at this point most of it is based on the fact that he's a few years younger so there is hopefully...
