Hard to say what will happen right around the time of the games. Will secondary market tickets be massively over face value or will there be some people trying to recoup some money for a ticket they can no longer use?

Looking at the ticket maps for the Sydney games at least I think it is going to be wishful thinking that there will be cheaper tickets available closer to the event.

    Waratahs 2025

I think Amatasero came on really well at the end of last year. Has real size and physicality. Angelo Smith also looks to be a really promising signing.

Wales v Australia, Monday 18 November 3:10am AEDT

A Wales team with only one Williams and not a single Jones? Even with two Thomas' I'm not sure I can take this team seriously.

Sorry to pick on you when it wasn't your suggestion to begin with. Why are we trying to come up with a low percentage trick play in one of the two highest probability try scoring positions possible (5m scrum or lineout)? The backline can't advance until the ball passes the 15m mark. He can't...

    Wallaby Eligibility

I would say there's a strong chance the change was a reaction to the Spain disqualification from the 2023 RWC for fielding an ineligible player. By removing the travel component it makes it far easier for unions (particularly smaller ones) to follow the rules.

    Waratahs 2025

This is almost as bad as bumping the Quade vs Kurtley thread.

    Waratahs 2025

I think this is overblown. He's almost certainly never going to play a Shute Shield game and might not even make an appearance at a club on a Saturday. In terms of negotiating with a star player and their agent are you really going to burn some of your bargaining power about what Shute Shield...

The only two tests we've won by 20+ points since 2019 were against Georgia and Portugal at the 2023 RWC (both exactly 20 points). Australia is paying $5 to win by 18+ which suggests the bookies think it is about a 20% likelihood of happening.

    Australian Rugby / RA

He had a contract with Souths from when he was 14. He then signed a contract with the Roosters and made his NRL debut as a 17 year old. The concept that Rugby Australia was "too stupid to pick him up at the time" is completely revisionist. They did try and sign him when he eventually left...

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

If everything looks like a funeral notice then no one can accuse the Waratahs of being too upbeat about their 2025 chances.

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

It was egregious from Salakai-Loto. I think the tackle in the air on Jorgensen would have needed to be pretty ugly and dangerous for it to trump the penalty we'd already given away.

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

One thing that was really clear from this game is how well the bulk of the team needs to play to beat strong teams, particularly if the opposition don't have a bad day. Overall I thought England played to about the level we'd expect this current team to play to and it took an incredible...

Yes. The protocol was changed in 2022 to make it a minimum of 12 days for elite players before they could return to play. It's no longer possible to play a week later.

    Wallabies 2024

In hindsight it's pretty easy to see why Sua'ali'i was thrown straight into the starting XV. It would have been hard seeing that ability at training and deciding he wasn't in your best team. The point Schmidt made about him being named as a starter and that being beneficial for his preparation...

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

Seemed to be a distinct change in tactic here that worked much better. Previously the catcher and the lifter were effectively bound together before the catch and were awkwardly trying to get into the right position for the jump and the lift. Yesterday, Williams was very clearly getting himself...

    Aussie Player Exodus

I think he's just talking about volume. Would be hard to find a weekend ever where more Aussies are playing test rugby.

I don't for a second think that the Portuguese Chicken just came from Chargrill Charlies and was transferred onto platters for serving as a "home-cooked meal".
