All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

I don't get the love for ALB..... There is not one Test I can remember him playing in except when he yellow-carded for committing 2 yellow-card offences in the same passage of play!

My son currently can play both sides but is primarily on the loose head side. That might change next year...lol

November Internationals (excluding Wallabies & NZ)

In the first 'tackle', the 9 and the 10 should have both been looked at and, at a minimum, penalised. First the head contct from 9 and then no arm tackle from 10. Unbelievable.

    Wallabies 2024

Some of the current players will unfortunately be caught in the transition period where contact with the head has become almost completely unacceptable. I understand the frustration at the inconsistencies and sometimes randomness of what gets punished and what doesn't but in the big picture, I'm...

    England v Wallabies, Twickenham, Sun 10th Nov 2:10AEDT / 1:10AEST

Sua'ali'i getting MoM is a bit silly. He had an awesome debut but for me, either Valetini or Bell deserved it more.

What a game....JS take a bow. I watched the AB game at a mates place yesterday with a couple of other NZers and a few Aussies. All the AB fans picked a Wallaby win while the Aussies thought it would be lucky if the game was close. I think that speaks more to the years of disappointment for...

    Aussie Player Exodus

Why should players play for less money? Or no money at all?

Would you rather play 70 Tests for a country you weren't born in or 0 Tests for anyone at all.

From the article: Yeah...all the Aotearoa coaches at the Brumbies - the most successful Australian Super Rugby franchise - have forced them to do all those mauls huh Campo?

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

I have never said anything like "giving kids who aren’t selected on form a go because they love the sport" which is why you can't quote it. You made that up because what post 341 actually says is: "We can focus on the kids who do actually want to stick around." Why do people want to pick...

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Sure they can. That would be great and it totally negates this: If league do exactly the same thing, then union will know and won't have to waste energy on a kid who doesn't really want to play rugby. We can focus on the kids who do actually want to stick around.

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Off the top of my head, you could start asking them to sign a commitment contract - one that gets the kids to replay a certain amount of money if they sign to another code within 2 years. You could have exemptions that waive this in certain situations. It won't stop kids going to the NRL but...

    Wallabies 2024

Basketball was definitely a contact sport in those days. And Jordan would play all 82 regular season games + play-offs....

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Practically it's not hard.... you don't select him if he has signed a contract. If he wants to play league, then he can play for the Kangaroo U18s team. If the kid after him wants to play league, he can do the same. Put time, energy and resources into U18 kids who actually want to play rugby.

U18 Academy Games and Australia U18s

Rugby isn't treating him like shit. It is simply making a decision to put it's resources and efforts into someone who is more likely to provide a return on that investment. And a career choice, but it's very name, implies that the kid is accepting one thing and turning down something else...

    Wallabies 2024

I coached an U16s team this year for the first time so I talked to a few guys I know who are either coaching themselves or have been involved in fairly high-level environments and the advice I got was that a training session should have max 12-20mins of high intensity contact work. For me, it...

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

If only some of the NZ posters here, guys who have been to Aotearoa and maybe even *shock n horror* born and raised there had suggested this might be the case..

    Wallabies 2024

I reckon guys like George Smith are not common. When people talk about the greats in sports - guys like Jordan, Kobe, Messi, Tiger etc - you often hear about their work ethic and how hard they pushed themselves (and often their teammates) in training. A friend of mine once met Michael Hooper...
