Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

Wonder what the crowd will be like? Most Wallabies fans in Melbourne will be Tahs, Reds or Brumbies fans anyhow

    Aussie Player Exodus

What a dumb way of doing it. let’s not pick our best players, build with players from four domestic teams. We will lose another 15% of them overseas next year

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I feel they were starting to do well, knew a coach in the Rebels shield. If you got picked for a rep side out of it you had to sign up for a club side. They targeted all the primary schools around the Rebels shield schools to introduce kids to the game earlier

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

And they will all make their own decision, yet if it was my child I would advise them to maximise their earnings and represent their nation of heritage.

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

So why should any Victorian take under market value to play for the Wallabies? I’ll always support all the lads that come out of Vic. Canham chose to stay and it will be a great moment to see him make his Wallabies debut eventually. But honestly it’s not in their best interest to play for the...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

100%, rugby Australia doesn’t care about Melbourne that’s been clear since day one. Why should a local boy take less to stay in Aus and play for the Wallabies when they could go to Europe or Japan and represent their heritage? From my time in Rugby here I would say less than 10% of players...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

100% hope all the Vic Boys with dual eligibility turn their back on Aus Rugby and the Wallabies

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

148kg is ridiculous at his height.

If rugby Australia was well run the game wouldn’t be on death row in the country

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

When has RA won? Lost round one v the Rebels and lost v Izzy.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Good. I am glad they are taking action, while it maybe too late to save the club if the court finds in their favour then surely it spells the end for those in charge of RA.

It’s a fairly common practice in pro sports. Most AFL clubs have host families for the interstate draftees. As you are exactly right, it’s about providing them a home and a support network as opposed to an empty apartment

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The club shuts on June 30 officially that’s what the staff were saying on the flight home. I doubt there would be any OT or weekend work this week so it will be the final goodbye. That will be independent from what the consortium chooses to do.

    Glad it’s going to court.

But we don’t get marquee players

Probably been cut of from the pokie bail outs from the Vikings

With only for teams we can’t justify any overseas players unless they can become Wallabies eligible

    Should be zero now

That’s not how it works and we both know that.
