    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

The AFL the time disappears in the last seconds due to this reason as the broadcast clock is just a guide and not the official time.

It doesn’t have to be an exact science. If they are out by half a second it is an improvement on guess work

Also if the players are looking to go overseas, of course they will dig their heals in nominate the one club that can’t accommodate them and threaten to play club footy. Of course RA want them at the Tahs or failing that the Force to improve the competitiveness of those sides. Yet they would...

They have to pay their wages next year then the contract is up and legally they can’t stand in their way

Ah yep I agree with you now on this. If they are refusing to play for the Tahs they are eyeing off moves overseas so it is best for all parties to rip the band aid off and get it done

Why should they get released? They are entitled to get paid. But the other part is right if they opt out for the year they will likely never play super rugby again

There is also a fair discrepancy between getting a local coach and finding an international coach so you can maintain your training while on holiday

It is common knowledge. Jordan DeGoey famously went to Cali in his off season to get fit then made the news for a bar fight on New Year’s Eve. A whole group of Essendon players went on a self funded training camp in the US over their off season and now look likely to break a finals drought...

If you want to come to Melbourne and work out I’ll DM you some recommendations if you’d like. But if you are in a city you don’t know I would look up either the ASCA or the NSCA and they will be able to help you find a certified coach.

Most professional athletes pay for a private coach in there offseason. Most blokes who are half serious at local level sports look to engage these sorts of people

@Slim 293 its not a hard concept to understand. There is more money to be made running a private business than there is working for a super rugby club. So your access to high level training and athletic development from choosing to play club footy is not diminished. If anything it is enhanced...

Sorry but you are just so wrong. They may elect to take it easy. Yet it would be easy to find private coaches with qualifications that outstrip those at any Super Rugby club. Pro sports don’t pay well, as a coach you can or anyone who works in athletic development or recovery you can make way...

There will be no shortage of competition in the market for capped test players. All the fringe players would want to be bending over backwards to get a game or seeking an early release to play pro footy elsewhere.

So a clear conflict. Would they prefer them to go to the Tahs and take them to finals or the Force?
  15. Rebel man

    Australian Rugby / RA

No it won’t. International clubs will still come and make them good offers. Not playing the year won’t hurt them, I mean it’s not like Quade Cooper had no offers and is earning more than he could in Aus

100% you need a shot clock make it a hard and fast rule. The AFL introducing one has been good for the game
  17. Rebel man

    Australian Rugby / RA

For the fringe pro players no, but for the capped wallabies it won’t hurt their value
  18. Rebel man

    Australian Rugby / RA

Well RA definitely has a conflict of interest. The own the worst team in Aus and want to make them competitive ASAP. I don’t believe for one second that the Rebels were knifed to benefit the Tahs. Yet when they came to the decision to wind them down they definitely looked at how to get the best...

RA is trying to push players to the Tahs that don’t want to be there. You could see that playing out when they gutted the list there to make way for them. It will be an unmitigated disaster when these boys all run out in the hospitals cup and the Tahs can’t get a win. But yet again RA is to blame

It’s the cost of cutting the side, why on earth should they be forced to the Tahs?
