    Wallabies v All Blacks @ Suncorp - 18/10/14

Genia has been fucked injury wise for the last two seasons. He's only just getting over that now. If he plays well against the rays in the NRC this week he should be picked on the bench at least. The same goes for Cooper. It is as simple as that.

    Kurtley Beale

So Patston goes and Beale goes. Can the ARU just get it over with.

    Wallabies v All Blacks @ Suncorp - 18/10/14

I don't think Rob Hornes going to win us a world cup, or a bledisloe test.

    Wallabies v All Blacks @ Suncorp - 18/10/14

I think we need far more quality on the bench than we had in Argentina. Genia and Gill would be a good start. Will Beale play in place of To'omua?

    Kurtley Beale

If what Beale did was a sackable offence, he would have been sent home and squad wouldn't be rallying around him. I don't particularly like Beale, but I don't think this incident is entirely his fault.

    Kurtley Beale

I think it makes perfect sense in a certain context. Patston going home is an 'easy' way to diffuse the situation. I still think there is a disconnect here between how Beale, the playing group and possibly some of the coaching staff feel about the incident, compared to how Patston and Pulver...

    Kurtley Beale

Kurtleys obviously said something that has ruined his relationship with Patston. Considering she is the de facto team manager, and his apology was not accepted, in the long term that means either he goes or she goes. We can hypothesise that the reason he hasn't been sent home is because the...

Player Distribution in Australia and the Potential for a Draft

Fuck the draft and fuck the salary cap. Firstly, they only work in competitions where every team is subject to them and there are no special top ups for internationals. Secondly, both are lazy band aid solutions to a bigger problem which is the lack of grassroots pathway outside Brisbane and...

    Reds 2015

Yep. I thought Meehan would be a great signing and he has turned out to be a bit of a disaster. The performance of QLD country gives the QRU a pretence to sack him before the start of next season, and I think it would probably be in the best interests of the Reds if they did.

    Western Force 2015

Godwin is the only one with long term promise. Lilo and Inman are never going to be at the level of Nonu, SBW, Fofana or Devilliers etc.

    Reds 2015

A few more front pages and this kid will have provided positive return on investment from the reds point of view without even playing a game. It's all about media hype during a big week for the broncos and the Reds are nailing it.

    The Official Shield Thread.

Melbourne new holders of the Official Un-Official Shawn MacKay (if his family is okay with us using his name) Shield. Past History: Brisbane - 1 Win, 0 Defences. Perth - 1 Win, 0 Defences.

    Western Force 2015

There would be 3rd party money in Hunts contract that probably wasn't there for Cummins. Consider also Cummins is a winger and we already have a few big money wingers like AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), O'Connor and Speight, and some less big money wingers like Tomane who still do the job. Who else do we have at 12...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

    Souths looking strong.

    The Official Shield Thread.

I'm drawing a line in the sand here. Brisbane City as winners in the first game ever played currently hold the shield. And while we're at it Queenslands super rugby titles in 94 and 95 are just as valid as anything that has been won since.
  16. Bowside

    The Official Shield Thread.

I think in the name of fueling the fires of provincialism we should roll with it from now. I know Brisbane currently hold it by default - but life isnt fair, and if this competition is to grow into something substantial there needs to be a multitude of injustices to keep it interesting.

    The Official Shield Thread.

The NRC organisers are yet to pick up on the fact that the best thing about provincial comps is not so much who wins the grand final - but rather who holds the shield. So I thought I'd start the thread so we can keep track of who currently holds the shield and what games are classified as...

    Reds 2015

Because it builds more hype this way. The reds already had the front page with JOC (James O'Connor) and Hunt. This way they get 2 more front pages when they unveil the Wallaby and the All Black. Memberships go on sale tomorrow. I expect they will get their first 10k by those who renew. Once the rate of...

Holy shit thats awesome I didn't make the connection.

    Reds 2015

Japanese players are exempt from marque rules I am pretty sure. The ARU has some agreement with the japs where they can send 1-2 players to each Aus super rugby team in order to help them build depth.
