    Sydney Subbies 2022

(Sigh) agree. When organisations make collective agreements tough decisions that are good for the game are rarely made. Reality is those clubs with large rosters would no doubt increase their registration fees to recover some of the revenue. Money is there to be had however one of the easiest is...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

Kind of sick of talking about this issue that should be easy to fix. Roster limits and in-season player transfers is not that hard.

    Sydney Subbies 2022

Randwick, Uni, etc.......and the list goes on. I know some Prem clubs complain about this too as there is ample opportunity for overflow to other Prem clubs as well.

    Sydney Subbies 2022

Again, roster caps for Prem clubs then? You got to earn that Prem jersey, you shouldn't be able to buy it.

How close was that ear to the grindstone? Chatswood - Meldrum Cup Still I cannot understand how they should not get some bleed off of players from Gordon. Surely the highlanders would have players wanting to run on for Subbies rather than sit in the stands on Saturdays.

    Sydney Subbies 2022

So from your earlier post we can presume StP and HH have gone up and 4 teams from your Div 2 & Div 3 list are now in Div 4.

Super Rugby Rnd 2: Waratahs v Reds AKA The 2022 Festival of Hate.

No doubt the Tahs replacement tight head will be a 'new man' one way or another.

Reffing the 15s knockout in Armidale on that day. Enjoy the day at Whalan.

Trial Match - Waratahs v Brumbies at Bowral

FWIW my humble opinion having made the trip. Lot of talent from the brumbies watching from behind the fence. Tahs appeared to have a strong side for the first (of 3) 30mins and were dominated by the brumbies forward pack with only notable being Sio.

Cluch it is. NSW Women's City v Country Tahs v Brumbies

    Sydney Subbies 2022

I don't know of a national competition that has been successfully implemented without a strong local (club) competition being in place. With NRL & AFL they were almost forced into national comps as it was the only option left to grow. Arguably the strongest club comp in Australia the Shute...

    John I Dent Cup 2022

A few games prior to the first time they were expelled the biggest problem with Emus appeared to be travel. Playing grade at Forshaw Park (Souths), the teams were to meet at Liverpool station to catch the train. I don't know how they got to the ground from the local station (Caringbah) which is...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

I wouldn't put a cap on any Subbies club. More freedom to them. The natural limiting factor is desire to play a game versus the number of games available. Yes, not play at all is likely. Some players gravitate to certain (premiership) clubs purely on the basis of the program they offer...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

In this scenario the premiership club would lose a player for the season and 'may' seek a replacement. This player would then commit to being on the roster and join the premiership program. Also keep in mind the new standards for Sydney premiership clubs and the semi-professional programs being...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

Not at all. Think rosters not teams. They need 161 players on a roster to compete, make it 180+ if need be. I would guess that a couple of clubs have well over 200+ on their roster. If you limit the roster for a club, what happens to the ones who don't make the cut? First they would seek another...

    Sydney Subbies 2022

A tangent topic thought. There was talk last year in Shute Shield regarding the roster size in certain Sydney premiership clubs. Humble opinion would suggest a roster cap for premiership clubs would benefit both the Sydney Premiership and Subbies. 4x Grade teams (scrap 5th) & 3x Colts teams each...

    Shute Shield 2020

Regarding Souths I thought they were going to struggle against Randwick last week as the injury toll bit hard with some form players out injured from the uni game. The 3 blue cards starting with #9 in the first 10mins made a bad situation worse. Souths don't quite have the depth at this stage of...
