Looks like ITV are set to win the broadcast rights for the Nations Championship in the UK off the back of a big (£80m+) bid. With all broadcast revenue shared amongst the Six Nations and Rugby Championship teams (Japan and Fiji get a participation fee) that's good news for us.
Sucks to be Fiji with the participation fee, hope it's a large one and they take some scalps.

It is a bit ridiculous, but between that and selling their home tests to foreign stadia they should come away with a lot more money coming in for the year than they usually do.

I’m a little confused by the broadcast rights value sharing, because the Stan deal with RA included the Nations Championship and I doubt RA are pooling any of that.

perhaps the UK/Europe broadcast rights are split because the finals will be in a friendly Timezone for them? That’s some crafty negotiation by those outside of the European time zone if true, or maybe it’s not an equal split..

as it stand between Qatar as the principal sponsor and broadcast rights the value of the tournament in the first 2 iterations will be £60million each iteration. Or around $12million AUD for each team.

That’s not including operational and other associated costs

I'm speculating entirely but I would guess there's some sort of equalization clause that allocates a certain amount of the local broadcast rights from the other teams against what is owing to them from the ITV deal.

NZ home fixtures confirmed:

4/07 v France, Christchurch 7:10pm NZST
11/07 v Italy, Wellington 5:10
18/07 v Ireland, Eden Park kickoff tbc

Edit: smart move playing Italy in Wellington, there's a big Italian community, mostly in the southern suburbs, so expect plenty of Azzuri jumpers in the stands regardless of how many actual Italians come over.
