I think it's probably a year or two early for him at super level, you wouldn't want to see much more than a few bench stints from him just yet. Fitness is a big work on. I also think he's probably going to be hard to lure away from QLD just yet, given he has only just emerged on the scene. In a year or two if he finds himself blocked than he'd be ripe for the picking, but right now not so much.Vaiuta Latu would be the ideal replacement as a 6 / 8.
Do we? Pretty happy with our lock and backrow stocks. Williams, Swain and Molina are all international quality, and could mean we'll see Williams at 6 or 8 a bit. That would cause havoc with a lot of opposition lineouts.Force need some more good forwards..
Did we ever see Tonga play for U19s?These types of contracts are interesting as I don't know how strictly enforced they are but they're good for retaining talent in the sport as a whole.
Hadley Tonga was on the same with the Tahs but not seen with the Tahs at all. Probably not needed with outside back numbers right now and his own injury troubles.
Good place for the kid though. Build the engine, likely play with the U20s then back end of next year Super Rugby Aus.
Happy to see him retained in rugby, little bit sad it’s not in QLD
My understanding is some of these contracts are being funded by Government programs with Indigenous and Torres Straight Islander kids. The Gage Phillips one is definitely one of these. Not sure on Wallace Charlie.Torres Strait speedster Wallace Charlie pens long-term deal with Sevens, Western Force
