Uys is a mountain of a kid, how is his scrummaging? Im sure he dominates the smaller age group kids through pure power but is his technique up to taking on the saffers etc?

The current crop of under 18s props are very strong, at least from QLD. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of them in next years under 20s squad, particularly Rangawai who was a late call up to the under 20s this year, and Uys who is super talented if a bit young.
Rangwai yes, Uys would be a stretch right now IMO against some of the legitimate 20 year old NH monsters who have 20-30 games of pro footy. He's a great athlete right now, but will benefit from S&C and play v grown men.

Elite around the field play has covered up some of the dark arts areas where he had been shaded in some of the QLD v NSW rep games.

I wouldn't necessarily expect Uys to play too much if selected, but they have regularly grabbed one younger prop in the cohort with an eye to future years. Uys fits that bill, assuming they're happy with the rest of the group. We'll probably know more after the under 18s, but this will be his second year going up against NZ and he played a bit of under 19s last year, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Agreed. Uys seems to be 'Bell' type prop. Similar trajectory with transitioning from the back row. Just need to be patient with his scrummaging because he'll be an absolute weapon with ball in hand.
I'm keen to see Rangwai. Haven't seen him play a lot.

Four & Five day turn-arounds seem tough for the boys.

I guess 18 year olds don't get sore or every squad player will get a run.

They'll be right. Half a game on Thursday to blow the cobwebs out then have a rest. The NSW boys will need an early run or even a bit longer since their 4-5 weeks since last comp games.

Good on RA for scheduling a game before the NZ clash to hopefully warm them up. Has NZ played games before this?

I'm sure I saw somewhere, but can't find now, that the Brumbies U18s are playing the Fiji U18s at Brumby Headquarters tomorrow, Wednesday.

Brock Prideaux is a great name. Sounds like a Cornish gamekeeper in a Le Carré novel.
There are some sensational names in all three teams. A real demonstartion of the success of the multi-cultural Australia experiement

How's BJ Bumpa for pure impact and Gabrielle Cornilion-Elliot carrying on the proud two dads Australian rugby tradition. But my favorite is Glassie Glassie on the wing

Strong gusty winds in Canberra today. Going to be challenging conditions for the teams running south. Good luck kicking into it.

Winds are supposed to ease this evening, hopefully in time for the seniors game.
