The broadcast deals were in place already, so it was money in the bank so who cares about the ratings?

450,000 ticket sales is the outstanding number that he should look at, how a supposedly inferior game that is dying and on its last legs achieves this should be what he is writing about.

I notice the Aus hasn’t given the article any air time, Buzz’s narrative probably doesn’t blend in too well with the other articles they are running today about the Lions tour generating $250m and RA ditching the Giteau Law.

it sounds like sour grapes. The AFL carry on a bit like it with the soccer. Its funny actually how the AFL powerbrokers have got on board of this Lions tour as it gives them the ability to hobnob with the big internal scene. There hasnt been too much hostility apart from a whole lot of these ' what is AFL and why is it Australia's game' articles that magically sprung up 7 weeks ago and have since disappeared now the tour is over.
