Wallabies v Lions - 3rd Test, Accor Stadium, Saturday 2 August

I saw that Mark Nawaqanitawase somehow snuck into the Lions/Wallabies after party on Saturday night. Also saw that Carter Gordon has been commenting a bit on the players’ posts. Yes boys, let the pride, joy and jealousy run through you. Come on home. Celebrating with the Lions and the Wallabies must be way more fun and classy. Instead of doing poor quality coke in the Ivy bathrooms you’re also.. doing poor quality coke in the Ivy bathrooms.

But logistically and contract wise it does

Challenge is players sign away a lot of their flexibility when they sign in Europe. Unbelievably the French Top 14 kicks off on the 6th of September.
I'm sure big Nella's club will want him wrapped in cotton wool from here on in and in Paris for training stat. UK comp also kicks off soon so Langi and Hooper will be on a plane to meet their contractual obligations.

Thought the ground experience was just first class. Well done to RA and those involved.

Particularly loved what they did with welcome to country. Doing it before the players are out there, Lloyd Walker, mood lighting, just felt special rather than something tacked onto the anthems when everyone just wants the game to start.

Only criticism is the ground announcer, took a bit too long to tell us about the lightning issue. At the ground we thought Ryan might have died!

Well, that was one of the best live sporting events I've ever been to.

What a night! Thankfully we were undercover. It would have been a very different experience for the poor souls in the lower section. The rain was insane!
I was one of those poor souls but it was weird - it was kind of a fun experience. The atmosphere and vibes amongst us poor soaked souls was still great, I think everyone leaned into it and embraced it. That and the extra 45 minutes drinking time at the bar. Everyone kind of turned feral. Good fun!

I second this. The lightning break was excellent. 45 minutes of karaoke classics and the crowd getting more intoxicated. Everyone was certainly well and truly in the spirit of things when play resumed.

The whole game day presentation was awesome.

I wonder if it took a while to filter up to the announcer? It was certainly confusing at the ground when all a sudden there were no players on the pitch. I watched the replay last night which was quite interesting. The commentators seemed to react to the situation live as well. It felt like the gameday manager running out to talk to the referee and order everyone off the field was the first person being told it was happening.

It was my first time to Accor for a game and I'd say it generally was excellent for those things the stadium could control. The 2 full strength beers per transaction was idiotic though.

Getting the train home was a cluster but it seems that was mostly due to the delay due to weather. Sounds like it threw the schedule out completely.

Nah the train ride home is usually a cluster. Been to a bledi and it took ages. Went to Coldplay last year and didn’t get home for hours. They need a fleet of buses to help out.

I dont know when, but I hope just one time we'll throw all rugby nuance out the window and run a jumbo package of 7As (Allan Ala'alatoa), Tupou, Skelton, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Bobby V..

I don’t reckon Skelton will be there. But we need to try and win games in the RC to help our RWC pool allocation. So I reckon we’ll pick a pretty similar squad to the BIL one.
Tupou will tour SA because we’ll get demolished in the scrum if he doesn’t.

Carter must regret leaving picked up one hell of an injury and never played
