Lions Tour 2025

I can't see them not coming to Australia in all honesty. It makes a stupid amount of money, has the biggest stadiums, the most expats and let's be honest amongst friends a safer + more appealing touring destination then NZ or SA in the winter. Anecdotally my rugby friends in the UK (have a few) are definitely most keen for an Australia tour over the others. Its a commercial venture now at the end of the day, all the romance is gone sadly.

However, I do think there are changes afoot. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see a France tour in 12 years time and they just add that into the rotation. With the money in the French game and the opportunity for some brilliant touring games (imagine Lions against Toulouse) + the ease of touring being only a pop over the channel it makes too much sense.

I also think they will revisit the midweek/provincial games a fair bit.

I don't think we'll see it, not least in a full tour situation anyway. A capped game on the way over maybe (like vs Japan 4 years ago and Argentina this year), but otherwise can't help but feel that a tour 45 minutes from your front door isn't as lucrative.

"You've never been to Africa and 2033 sounds as good a time as any".
Gone off it a bit since looking up South Africa climate and realising I'd be wearing a jacket every day. And getting drunk with rugby fans might have a Been Here Done This feeling by the 3rd weekend. Going to the first 1 or 2 games and heading north up the continent might work.
