Wallabies v Lions, 19 July Suncorp

Conversely, I think he's showed, for a kid in his first test start (?) that he's a keeper. Had a rough first few minutes but then knuckled down (in a HIGH level game) to show he has the right calm temperament and ticker for his position.
Temperament he’s fine, his skills are the issue. Kicks have all been off and can’t catch a high ball

We need Bell on asap. For the love of God somebody please get over the gain line

I'd be trying to swap out Williams. #5 should have more impact. Dpn't disagree with Bell though. Let the pack run another 10 then shift the pine.

A big concern is that the Lions backups are too strong. It was supposed that starters vs starters even and they would make the difference with their substitutes...

I agree Dismal — Lynagh is looking better than the other options at the moment. He seems to have the right temperament.
Disagree. His kicking has been poor. Missed a kick at goal which he normally would get, missed a tackle. Better than the other options? Don't think so.

Uh huh

I had hoped that the Wallabies would have learnt from some of the successes that the Waratahs and Brumbies had in defence, but it doesn't seem like any of that useful data has been incorporated into the strategy. Ryan Lonergan alone wrecked loads of their attacking moves by just shooting up and getting in the way.

I think our bench may be better than starting side but are they able to claw back the deficit I just don't know. Lions play right on the edge. Offside, lay on the ball, off feet, and more but they get away with it.

Shig, nobody deserves anything they don't work for or don't have the skill to execute. Potter simply should have run the ball infield to link up with supports rather than kicking it away when he was essentially in clear air.
You say that. But if that ball is 200mm shorter it's a 5m line out. Lions player let it go and got lucky
