Queensland Reds 2026

The Ghost of Raelene

Rod McCall (65)
Bell looked like that. Only a couple non PI boys will have the Front Row build at 17. Massimo and Goddard (NSW) otherwise just give them time to naturally do it. Realistically they are at least 4 and probably 5 years from being proper parts of a pro side being tight 5 players.

I think it was just mentioned on the Wests v Sunnybank coverage that Werchon is off to Benetton for a stint. Can only be a good thing for his development.
Not too surprising with Kalani re-signed, there wasn't going to be much gametime available for him. I also had a feeling that he might get squeezed out by Martens coming through from the under 20s by 2027. He's probably already good enough to rely on as a 3rd option from 2026 with Tate and Kalani locked in.

Only really surprising part is that he did re-sign earlier this year. Any word on what the deal was? If it's a full release from the Reds and only a short stint at Benetton I wouldn't be surprised to see the Force look at picking him up afterwards given their aging options. Either way it should free up a bit of cash to hopefully lock in Anderson.

Didn't quite catch it, even with a couple of replays, as the commentator mic seemed to drop out - but I think it was just said to be a 'loan'. Heading off on Monday apparently, hence why he wasn't playing today.

@Bulldog or one of the other loyalists may have more details?

Probably best of both worlds for us then, he gets game time he wouldn't otherwise get here while coming off the books (to some degree), but he's still linked with us if Martens needs more time. Might even be that he's back by the start of next season. If we're really lucky he'll bring an extra Lynagh back with him...

Losing both is bad. Now the Tahs are overstocked with Blyth, Philip, Grant and now Amatosero on the back of his best game ever. Jeez does he wanna come up! Swappsies
I’d prefer to just take Blyth back :)

I think it was pretty inevitable fhough we’d lose 1 or both of them. Very hard to retain 3, let alone 4, locks of this calibre.

I could see the Reds utilising Uru as our starting 6 and moving him into lock when Brial comes onto the field - but that is in the scenario everyone is fit. Ideally though we’d bring in a genuine lock who is not too much of a step back from our starting pair.

Who would be the next cab off the rank from Hospital Cup? Muller? Doesn’t seem a bad option but will take some time to get up near one of the guys he is replacing if he ever can.
