Brumbies v British & Irish Lions - Wednesday, 9 July 8:00pm, Canberra

I don't think they needed too much retrospect for that, but it should hopefully light a real fire under those guys getting another crack on Saturday.

Does go to show the difference having a proper 7 on the field makes - Reimer was a big part of keeping the Brumbies in touch with the Lions throughout this second half.
I want to see the AUNZ team just smack them, and see them as substitutes for a French c team.

Do it for the moana !!!

yeah heard some Lions fans saying they were worried about Saturday night's game in Adelaide. Well they should be - fringe internationals from 2 countries playing the best from 4....

I'm reasonably happy with that...

Compared to 2013 that was a far stronger Lions' lineup against a weaker Brumbies' team...

If only they'd converted a few earlier chances in the game, and not gone for the dumb short 22m before halftime (almost the equivalent of the Wallabies' chip kick at half time) it could've been a closer scoreline.

I have wondered for a long while why the defending side does not contest the lineout close to the line.
if you go up at 2 and they manage to get it over the top of you that's 3 blokes who can't join / disrupt the rolling maul. It's high-risk high reward so depends if you're a gambling man.

I personally don't understand why anyone defends a maul 5 out though... it's very park footy but surely, it's a more high percentage play to just keepo your hands off it?

Sorry fellas I was away antagonising Lions fans in the Reddit match thread. They are delightfully easy to wind up. Complaining about the ref when you're 12 points up against a provincial B team. The ref beating from both sides come Test 1 will be absolutely awful.

Great showing from the Brumbies. 12 point loss even when your scrum is an automatic 30m up the field for the opposition. Hopefully Wallabies can provide a little more strength there. I don't think anyone from the Brumbies put their hand up for Wallabies 23. Noss was fun but just too small. Liam Bowron looks promising, always love when frontrower looks 40 by the age of 22. I thought T Hooper would have more of an impact than he did. Also Feliuai continues to be an absolute handbreak on attack and liability in defence. Brumbies definitely played better than the sum of its parts unlike the Lions.

Annoyingly, Genge and Itoje are looking absolutely deadly. Curry and Aki bit useless. With Furlong and Kinghorn, they do seem to be an injury away from a crisis. Wouldn't that be terrible.
