Anyone know if Will Brown (Y10) is playing in the joeys 2s this week, heard he's back from injury, can anyone provide new updates
It’s looking icy at Armidale, but I’m confident Shore can triumph. We saw a Shore vs Joeys 3rds match up already, it will be interesting to see the outcome after the Joe v. TAS game3rd XV Round 2 Preview
The 2025 3rd XV competition season is well and truly under way following the first-round matches on Saturday 31 May. There are 7 rounds and the teams only play each other once, unlike the 1st and 2nd XVs, so every match counts and it’s a hard competition to win. Shore 3rd XV holds the Col Windon Shield from last year.
Round 1 Results:
Riverview 31 d High 0
Kings 27 d Scots 12
Shore 28 d Grammar 5
Joeys 24 d TAS 18
TAS 1st XV v Shore 3rd XV (11:00am on TAS Backfield)
TAS put up a very strong showing against Joeys at Hunters Hill in round 1, only losing by a late try. They have some fast outside backs and the necessary big forwards to challenge the other teams in this competition. But Shore also started well, defeating Grammar at Rushcutters Bay. This should be a terrific match in Armidale, and based on their good showing against Joeys, I think TAS can win this one at home on the glorious Backfield. But it will be close.
TAS by 3.
Joeys 3rd XV v Scots 3rd XV (11:00am on SJC #1)
Joeys are on the board following a win over TAS at Hunters Hill in round 1, and they meet a Scots team coming off a first-round loss to Kings. While it is only round 2, this is pretty much a grand final for Scots, as history has shown that it is very difficult to win this competition with two losses. Joeys found that out last year, and they will be looking to eliminate Scots by registering their second win in a row. I think they will be able to do that. I note that the Joeys 1sts and 2nds are playing later in the day at Riverview so this could be a quieter crowd than usual on SJC #1.

Kings 3rd XV v High 1st XV (1:00pm on JS White Oval)
Kings opened the competition with a strong win over Scots at Bellevue Hill and are looking the goods for this home clash against High who went down to Riverview in the first week. High have definitely improved from last year but are facing a very promising Kings team that should have no trouble notching their second win.

Riverview 3rd XV v Grammar 1st XV (1:00pm on Riverview #1)
After a solid win over High in round 1, Riverview have a home fixture against Grammar who struggled against Shore last week. I did not see the Grammar match, but they will certainly need to bring their best here because otherwise they will also be facing two losses on the trot. I think Riverview will prove too strong at home and are likely to claim a second successive victory.
Riverview by 10.
Good luck to all players for round 2 of the competition.
I would say that without Hannon the Joeys 2nds didn’t look anywhere near as dominant. He sure is a star…I believe joeys are a very strong team in the twos comp but scots are underdogs. Although they had a loss against joeys, they have a strong mentality towards not only working on individual skills but also as a team. I am keen to see how they play against Newignton. Fun fact i used to play 2nds "back in the good old days".
No doubt Shore will bring their best, but I think it will be a very close contest. It’s looking icy at Armidale, but I’m confident Shore can triumph. We saw a Shore vs Joeys 3rds match up already, it will be interesting to see the outcome after the Joe v. TAS game
Been injured unfortunately.do any J members know what team Sam Jorgensen is playing in now? i’m sure i haven’t seen him in 2nd XV team lists this GPS season., but then i thought he was on the cusp on 1sts in trials as he subbed on for 1’s in at least one trial game as i recall?
Is he expected to return this season?Been injured unfortunately.
Unlike the TAS kids who commute to Sydney every other weekend. Freeze baby freezeAny chance of a tas team list. Feel sorry for the shoremen taking the trip.
Sorry, "Srgnt Short Ball", how many current wallabies are there from Riverview? 0, how many from Scots? 3. And I won't even go into the u18s and u20s.haha... props to you "2013-2017" i got a good kick out of this. Bowen is now starting in the waratahs... whats McCullen up to? as a scots oldboy I would assume he has likely developed what doctors at Royal north shore are calling 'scots syndrome' which is an amplified version of 'Napolean syndrome' more commly reffered to as 'little man syndrome'. whilst scots does not produce many wallabies, they do produce men with superiority and insecurity complexes like they are a factory.
As much as I would like to share. I’ve been told to not share team lists this week for tactical purposes. ApologiesHave we got a SHORE team list yet?
Been injured unfortunately
Forum,
Is there any Newington team lists for their battle at Bellevue Hill this weekend. I am keen to see if Makasini will be listed or not, because that could be a big blow for the title contending side.
Any chance of a tas team list. Feel sorry for the shoremen taking the trip.
I think it’s a privilege for these boys. TAS always get a big crowd as it’s their home which is pretty much a 1st XV atmosphere. I thought boys would enjoy this opportunity not sigh at the idea of heading out to Armidale.TAS make this
Sorry???
TAS make this trip down the New England every second weekend. They are the hardest working rugby team in show biz.
They arrive late on a Friday evening and sleep on crash mats in cold school gyms.
Joeys host them often as they have dining rooms for them where they do get a hot breakfast plus a packed lunch.
Then as soon as the TAS 1st XV finish they are back on the road arriving 1am Sunday morning.
It really pissed me off when students grumbled about the TAS game. ONCE a season while TAS make up to 7 trips.
