Hard to blame Les when you just don't have the troops.

We have a sea of structural issues that continue to produce poor results. We had the opportunity to address them and... doubled down.
Plenty of good players out there in Reds jerseys tonight. Brad Thorn got them to the exact same point and was criticised to no end

I try to avoid bagging the ref - but I will say I hate Williams and I don’t think he should ref Aussie teams v NZ teams (this isn’t a recent thing - I’ve thought this for some time).

However now that I’ve got my dummy spit in the reality is the Reds have been a level below the Crusaders in this game. Our scrum hasn’t been good enough. Crusaders have read our attack and we haven’t adjusted. Tate’s passing has been too slow giving the defence time to shoot up. We’ve made too many unforced errors and we’ve slipped a couple of times. Our lack of punch in both the forwards and backs has cost us.

That should be red though.
What a wild 180

No one’s blaming the ref for reds performance… the ref has been downright fucken ordinary though
Same story just about every match for the past, I dunno, five years at least. Aussie team sucks and is matched only be the gaping chasm of endless ineptitude dished up by the refs.

But who can complain when we aren't good enough anyway?

Haha - yeah, don’t worry. I know. I’m an absolute hypocrite. I’m well aware.

Edit: I guess the point I was trying to make is that the result isn’t Williams fault. At all - and I think my post is clear enough I’m not saying that.

But that doesn’t mean Williams shouldn’t have some examination of his performance.

Was he, by who? Is this revisionist?
I always liked Thorn, but he had lost the playing group clearly, that’s why he went, not because of the teams performances… because players were leaving if he stayed.

And for 2 years straight I’ve been told how much better Les Kiss is, only for him to fail at the exact same point Thorn did two years in a row. Pretty concerning from a Wallabies perspective, Kiss’ Reds seem to fall apart so easily in big games

well…. Players are signing to stay with Kiss, and they were leaving under Thorn.. if as you say all other things remain the same; that does make Kiss better then Thorn.

as for Kiss as wallabies coach, I’ve said all year that I didn’t think any of the 3 x Super Rugby applicants were the ideal candidates. Dunno who is though.
