I wonder what could have been with Campbell if he had got time at 10, quite a few years ago he played there in a trial but I think he got injured so never got a shot.

I really like his involvement this year.
He moved to 10 at least once this year following a substitution to Lynagh (or was it HMP?) and looked meh at best, which is also my opinion of his other handful of outings at in the position. I do think the second receiver / distributor role suits him very well though.

I’d say he would just have been another name in the conversation about Australia not having a standout 10. We will never know though.

A 10 should be able to go 80 if needed.

If you need to save his legs shift him wide at times in D and shuffle in the Centres. Don't do what they did one week and have Ryan defend at first receiver though.

I'd love to have Lynaghs boot available for a shot at goal in the 75th minute over any other Aus 10.

The issue is not fitness as much as injury and HIAs in particular. Lynagh seems to have a bit of a bit of a target on his head, but even if he didn't there's a risk not having cover for any given position in the 23.

Hopefully he's not someone more susceptible to them. Playing 10 and not being a big guy is a risk.

Tricky situation if HMP is out with no Centre who can shift in and get it done like a Hamish Stewart. Gordon was the next utility in the squad as Gibbs is a 10 and could cover 15 about as well as Campbell can cover 10. Don't want to ask them to do too much for too long.

I'm going to be in Ipswich for this & have been advised our host (who's nephew status is currently under review) possess neither a tv nor wifi. Sure he & his partner work on South Straddie & are hardly ever "home" but still...

Looks like I'm watching it on my phone using my NZ data at whatever Vodafone feel like charging me :(
I'm in Collingwood Park so would usually say "come over & watch" but I'm away at a work conference all weekend

The Friday night function I have to be at starts at 7pm so I'm hopeful with the 5:05pm start time the game will be done in time or else I'll be fashionably late......

Not funny @dillyboy. At least for SF we'll be on the GC but the main family dinner of the trip is Saturday night, booking is for 7pm so I'm not 100% sure HTF I'm watching that (assuming CruSadists are in it).

Ipswich must have a Rugby Club, surely? With pokies to keep wifey & ma-in-law (& tab to keep pa- & bro-in-law(s)) occupied? Nephew can stay home & reflect on his luddite ways (unless he's our sober driver).

There's not many pubs that play the rugby unfortunately - the Mihi in Brassall is the best option I've found

Who wants to tell him?

(I know about the Rangers but for the sake of the joke.....)

Googled it. Clubrooms look pretty old-school which suits me but I'm guessing there's no pokies or tab. Which ain't really my problem.

Auspicious name, Mihi being a greeting or introduction in Maori. I'll certainly be seeing if it's within our travel radius (lived in Logan so Ipswich is kinda foreign territory for me).

In this case the pub is named after the creek that flows by it - not sure of the origin of the creek name but I'd assumed it was indigenous.

The pub used to be the Road House but was rough as guys & a place you'd expect Patrick Swayze to show up for work. It's pretty nice these days though.

Unfortunately Ipswich is very much a rugby league town so it's slim pickings when looking for a venue to go watch a game. The Springlake Tavern is also a decent venue to catch a rugby game.

I'm not above implying that a joint called Mihi must have a Maori connection & shrugging my shoulders if it should turn out otherwise... as long as there's a tv they're willing to put the rugby on I'm pretty chill itr.

SOUTH Stradbroke? Are you sure?

I'd be finding a way into Brisbane.

Nephew & his partner work on South Straddie something like 11/14 but have a place in Ipswich the other three days which is where we'll be staying before heading down to GC.

I fully expect him to get a cheap shot in the first few minutes, getting him out of the game with no real backup is worth 10 in the bin, even 20.

He's been a target down that 10 channel all year. And he's dealt with it so far. Pretty sure there is a plan to close up that channel to help out. From my perspective, charging attacks down his channel is fine. Now if it comes with intention to harm, rather than run at, well I'll be unhappy.

Official viewing party at the Jube if you're willing to make your way into the big smoke. The train isn't toooo bad of an option (about an hour), all things considered.
