Reds have had a positive season albeit I find it hard not to admit I was targeting better than #5. As a neutral I was a touch dismissive of the Brumby fans complaints around Sader ruck tactics and bad reffing. Just letting you know up front that I have taken the Hypocritic Oath and approach the dirty Crew with malice and the ref better keep a close eye on... Crusaders.

Reds last home game was a good dusting off and refresh. Flook back pulling together a back line which saw Ryan, Turner and Campbell on fire. We're still light on depth in the front row, keep watching injury returns. Still Bloomfield did more than we would have asked for and looks like a real future, based of course on 15 mins.

We finished with 13 on the field in order to avoid injury, let's hope it paid off.

I refuse to show even a scintilla of interest in understanding the labyrinthine permutations of this playoff system. W.Oldboy could explain it to me until he's blue in the face and I would still be

Chiefs vs Blues, Chiefs lose..... and again play the Blues again the next weekend again?

Someone loses and the next day 2 other teams could throw their match by playing their squaddies and both teams still go through?

Just understand that it's all about the money.

The most logical system would be 1 & 2 get a bye week 3 plays 6, 4 and 5 play off. Winners then play 1 & 2.

Buuuuuuutttttt if we did that, there would be one less match to put on TV.

7 & 8 should have had a final to be deemed best loser aka a plate final if they wanted another game this weekend.

No, they'd play Crusaders, Brumbies, Hurricanes or Reds, whichever is the highest-ranked winner from QF. Can't re-play Blues in SF but possible they both make the GF.

Doesn't need to be that contrived: if there's a home-team sweep 'canes would qualify & play Chiefs in SF.

Flook, Campbell and Lynagh are the players we were really missing in the regular season clash with the Crusaders, having them back should make a huge difference this time around.
We also played our dumbest football of the year that game. Just throwing it around with no respect for the opposition.

We had a couple of flashy moments - but overall we just keep giving the Crusaders chances that they really don’t need to be given. If I recall correctly they were really targeting our ball to the player out the back and we didn’t adjust.

I don’t want to see us play ultra conservative footy but I do want us to play the percentages much better.

Aside from that our biggest issues are around being out muscled in the pack which we don’t have an easy solution to other than players just lifting and getting their defence right, and also punch in the backs. Even though Flook isn’t big I feel when he is back we find space more often and guys like Paisami & Daugunu are a bit more effective as they have bit more space in defensive lines.

Crusaders will go in firm & deserved favourites but I’m not completely without hope.

The initial reports out of the Reds that Wilson's other wrist was fine and he's still up for selection for this game probably means his hand is no longer attached to his body

This game has the makings of a god un (well I think all 3 have). I not convinced on how well the Crusaders are playing, they look a bit clunky to me, and definitely need Havili in their midfield.
