BIG NEWS FROM NEWINGTON !

After a slippery deck at training today for the New Boys (their field is in shambles), Centre Braithe Sloane went down with a supposedly syndesmosis injury which caused him to be rushed to emergency. With this information it looks as though the NC backline is going down like flies. First Makisini getting dropped to 2s and now Sloane going down. Does this call for a call up for Makasini potentially playing 13 and Kden Carter Back on the wing. Interesting to see the line up they play with at Hunters Hill. Thoughts on the potential backline this weekend for NC?

Wasn't rushed off to hospital and was able to walk off the ground but is uncertain for this weekend, off to get scans now. Finger crossed although Makasini not a bad replacement if unavailable.

It will be exciting to watch Wendt (E) play this week. Only making the one trial game appearance in 2024 then tearing his ACL, he was almost a lock to play 1st XV in 2024. He was brilliant in restricted minutes for the 2nd XV last week and I'm sure he will carry this form over.
Well said.

He played particularly well under the high ball as well, with some successful contests.

Wendt (E) also showed some good carries in his small minutes he had in the 2XV.

Excited to see this success carried over against Scots this Saturday.

Yes,

I have heard from sources at Scots that Heinz Le-Moto has suffered a season ending injury, some issue with his knee, with this discovery it will be interesting to see what happens in the front row Potentially Phil Cooney moving up to front row and Jock Sides moving to N.O. 8

I haven't heard anything about a Heinz Le-Moto injury, Phil Cooney is some talent, and I would like to see him get a shot in ones he can make an impact no matter where you play him and just makes things happen when he's on the ball.

That’s good for Shore, but a massive loss for Scots and I am disappointed not to see him play he is such a talent.
I wonder if this will affect his post school career. Does he have anything lined up?

I believe he was signed with the Penrith Panthers and was playing for their Harold Matthew’s side in 2024, but I’m not sure if he is still contracted with the club.

Well since his Harold Matts season finished in March 2024, I would hope he isn't still signed with that team. However, he has recently played a season of SG ball with Penrith but I believe he is not secured for the future. While both NRL and Rugby AU are fighting for his signature, it appears that he will sign with the 'Stade Toulousain' French rugby side. This would be disappointing for us Australian fans of both Rugby League and Union but best of luck to Heinz which whatever path he chooses.

While disappointing for AU fans now, at least he is still playing the sport we all love (rugby), this would make the chances of him coming back to super rugby and/or the Wallabies much higher than if he was signed in the NRL somewhere in my opinion.

Looks like the casualty ward for scots is really ramping up. How are the players getting promoted to the front row shaping up to play against Shore this weekend @Harry Head

I think the reason his team won by so much was because of him. His X-Factor with the ball, paired with his playmaking, speed and agility lead to him being a real threat and leading SJC to what was a convincing victory
Rubbish !! He is good no doubt, but playing weak opposition in the 2nd XV recently
Playing behind a dominant pack helps too
His time will come

No idea what was in the water today but Mods have been dealing with spam all day.
There has been so much that @cyclopath locked CAS thread.

Make no mistake Cyclopath (who wields a much bigger hammer than me) is out and about ready to go.
Once more, we are very fortunate that the AAGPS students participating here are predominately level headed young men.

A bit of growth internationally will probably help drag the sport back up globally including Aus if anything.

At least he stays on the Union side.
