Augs had a man in the bin as well, stannies boys being absolute grubs with the ref turning a blind eye. The ref was also very questionable with 1 disallowed try and augs had 25% of possesion for the game
Dont know if anyone can agree with this one, looked like Augs brought down one of their own to ref the game. Auggies boys were having a tug of war with the ball while on the ground, ref wouldnt ever had the penalty to the stannies side. Not to sure if he got word of the new tackle height aswell, auggies were having a field day above the shoulders. Overall both sides did look in good form wouldnt be so sure that the scoreline defined the result, stannies turned some heads in the first half

Oakhill lost to Riverview 45-26. Score probably flatters View a bit, with Oakhill throwing a couple of intercepts late in the piece which saw them run away with it.

Across the board, Oakhill didn't win a single fixture against View.
Not sure the score flatters View at all, they were without a doubt the dominant team across all positions on the field. On watching the game, Oakhill could not capitalize on playing against 14 View boys for 20 minutes. We all know the Oakhill forwards are small and we going to be dominated (which was very clear during the game). I keep hearing about how good the Oakhill backline is, but all I really saw from the backs was missed tackles, intercept passes, general bad options when under pressure and a not being able to get any post contact metres at all. The game in general looked to be a very poor standard and when things were getting tough, Oakhill resorts to no arm tackles, high tackles and trying to start fights. The sad part of it is that the Oakhill boys on the field seemed to be thrilled by this. I really hope that they make improvements otherwise it will be a very long season for their supporters.

The Seconds ref was an Augustine's Ref I saw him in an auggies jacket after ones when I returned my flag to him in ones the ref was wearing the green shirt that refs all across the Central West wear
As an outside player from the Stannies vs Augs game, I feel as if too many people are trying to let Stannies off the hook here in both 1st and 2nd, lost by nearly 40 points, it doesn't matter if you think the ref was bad, the score shows that Augs dominated Stannies
I'm incredulous that Stannies could be complaining about their own refereeing in Bathurst

I feel as though that's a very harsh analysis.

No one decides to tackle someone high; it's a mistake that happens when playing contact sports, so to say they "resorted" to tackling high is just plain wrong. Further, the scuffle in the first half was when the game was drawn, so I'm not sure what you are actually getting at there. Yes, I can admit the no-arms tackle was, and should have been a red card, but this idea that you're inferring Oakhill are grubby and egotistical is quite unfair.

Secondly, if I were the coach, losing to a couple of interceptions is probably the best way to lose a game. If those couple of passes weren't thrown, Oakhill might've walked away with it, and the conversation would be a lot different.

Yes, they need to lift this week, but that's the great thing about footy, you only have to wait a week to come out and give a response.

The Golden Shoulders deserve to cop this perspective, or most of it at least.

The Race to Halfway after Round 3:

Thought I'd take a look at grading where every program is so far to see how each school is tracking for the divisional split. It makes for interesting viewing.

Please note - there are many assumpions here but I think I've made some sense of it. All the data below comes from the ISA website.

A few notes:
1) The winning team in each grade will be determined by points average NOT total points. Points average is used to calculate who's leading a competition when you can't guarantee that every venue will be open every week. It's a way of saying "every time you play, this is the average amount of points you accumulate". It's a way of trying to equalise the competition if not every team got to play their allocated games.
2) 1st grade has an average points max of 5 whereas every other grade only has a max of 4. This kind of answers the weighting quesiton we all had prior to the season starting.
3) Pius isnt fielding a 15A team (their only 15s team is playing in the 3rd grade comp). In order for Pius to qualify to Div 1, they will need every one of their other teams to do really well. This throws up an interesting conundrum as it really isnt fair on the team that is now in last place in the 15s (currently Gregs). Their score (currently at 0) could end up the same as Pius. They could argue that they were denied the opportunity for at least one win to bost the average points score. It could be academic but something to think about if the margins are close.
4) No school has a perfect points average score to date and I think that's great for the comp as a whole.
5) I have calculated who's leading using a sum of averages. ISA may have a different method for calculating this though.
