S.C.E.G.S for ROUND 1

5th XV

2. Taaffe

Coaches - M Ticehurst
Heard good things about this player Wisey, heard he is a smokey to take Perkins' position in the 4ths or possibly a move to back rower. Watched him play last year in the 7th XV and he was a dominant ball runner, although bit shy in the tackles in my opinion, which I've heard he has fixed up. Keen to get down to the Bridge early and watch him play this weekend, hopefully he pulls out one of his infamous Cattledog calls with him and Aloisio leading the charge with the Handbags.

Let me know if I missed anything.
Should be a great contest between all of these teams. St Josephs pride themselves on their depth, but we are starting to see S.C.E.G.S lower teams rise to a higher quality. I'm predicting S.C.E.G.S to take out a few of these games and gain some confidence going into the rest of the season. Best of luck to all teams.

I can't see him taking Perkins' (E) spot. Playing like a "5/8", he had a blinder against barker last weekend, setting up and scoring tries with ball in hand and on the toe. Rumours are swirling that he is placing too much of a focus on his NRL Fantasy team and not his rugby, but we will see come round 12. He will be a POD for the 4th XV this weekend.

Not certain on this however I've heard that Hamilton has left Shore rugby. Unsure if this is due to selection or other purposes.
He is not happy with selection. And fair enough, he is a 1xv standard player put in the 3xv, when they NEED him in the 1sts.

Hopefully he will be back and more fired up than ever.

Sydney Grammar has a wealth of young talent coming through. The Grammar 16As are better than the twos and pretty much on par with the ones. From what I heard, the 16As beat the twos 61-17 in training and lost to the ones 32-30. This just shows the quality of the young ones. Also a little fact for you, this current 16As team is the only team in GPS history to go 3 years undefeated. Watch out in 2027 comp
Glad to see Grammar's A team were able to get wins against other schools C teams!
