I’m quite impressed with Shores performances today against Barker. Although Barker doesn’t have amazing depth from the 5ths and up every team convincingly won. I think Shore could be back in contention for the Col Windon Shield again and definitely have a chance in the 2nd XV comp unlike last year.

Excellent ROI with Callahan and Bassingweighte for Shore, two years no matter what you hear or believe or choose not to be believe NEITHER boy attended the school in year 10 make no mistake Shore has joined the arms race ........... I doubt the result will be the same this year
Callaghan is obvious. However Rex’s brother went to Shore aswell, it isn’t blatant.

4ths for Shore looked very classy today.

Halves combo were slick and some good forward play was handy.

Reason I mention this is because this is positive news for High. Tight game in Armidale as Jim said and i’m expecting a good amount from them this year.

Joeys will be a strong team taking down Knox. The rest of the opens in W1 should be cracking. Hopefully the great GDI gets the boys across the line.

Sounds like Shore had a good day today. What was the score in the 1sts Shore versus Barker?

19-36 Barker. Again don’t think the score reflects the game. Was tight until 2 pretty lucky tries for Barker off a kick charge down and an intercept sealed it for them.

Bassingthwaighte joined in year 10. Let’s not accuse others of believing rubbish when your spreading misinformation.

Barker 16as beat Shore today. I'd be surprised if Barker won anything else....who would have thought...

I hear your frustration Rob. The clause that forbids such behavior has now been deleted from the charter. This will be the just like the CAS soon where this is the norm.

As always all discussion of the "word that shall not be used" should be directed here,

Joeys 2nds are red hot when you consider they are mostly made up of 3rds players who are not wasting the chance to impress.

SJC 13A's are an unusual team as they have never played as a team before. Joeys has no Prep school.
I put this result down to the decline of rugby at Knox. especially in the Prep School where once they dominated.

As a NSWCIS selector and coach I would see Knox dominate this rep team. Now, not so much.
Now Knox are lucky to get two teams when they used to have a 5ths in Knox Prep.
This of course filters through to year 7. Such a shame.

Thought on St Ignatius v Oakhill

The old adage of a Champion team beats a team of Champions comes to mind.

Oakhill have a lot to like about that side and they are capable of winning the ISA if the Forwards can hold enough of a platform to feed some very exciting Backs clean ball with a bit of time.

Riverview look fit, well drilled and aggressive in defence which caused errors that lead directly to run away tries. They aren’t flukes or mistakes by opponents but forced errors. This is a side that can build from the platform the Front Row gives them. No monsters but a tight 5 looking to own the tight stuff.

Strange first half today with a lot of stoppages, penalties and handling errors from both sides. 12/5 to Oakhill at HT and deserved lead.

Whatever the View coaches told the boys at HT worked a treat with 3 quick tries that came from pressure and upping the speed of the game. As the game progressed you could see the Oakhill pack fade and struggle to keep up with a View side that maintained the pace. This didn’t stop the Oakhill Backs from creating chances and capitalising on a few though. They don’t need much space to eat meters. View maintained the rage and closed it out 45/26.

BOG
Oakhill: 2, 10, 15

Do Joeys have a lot of players in the 1st xv that are injured?
Yes they do. Many were given another week to heal.
Plus plenty of reserves were brought on today.
Joeys have a history of plucking lads from the lower grades and playing them in different positions.
The 1st XV should look different next Saturday when compared to today.
