Not so sure about Kings 16s age group being notably weaker, the season will tell as always.
Kings lead all day until the final minute (lost 10-12) against a physically strong NC team on the weekend enhanced by two new Genblue U14s players the year prior. Kings had 6 of their best not starting or injured, all of which were with Next Gen U15s or in the final 3 U16s cuts from the Kings opens squad this year.
Last year Kings U15s lost by a conversion (5-7) in the last minute against Riverview who beat Joeys the next week. I believe all other Kings games were close other than Joeys last year.
I would says all 2024 U15s teams were competitive including Scots when they played the full team back from Glengarry. Agree Joeys and Riverview were the strongest (mainly better team cohesion, and execution of structure). This year if Joeys/Riverview have a couple of the best players in the Opens, and Kings/New/Shore/Scots have improvements, the competition is wide open this year. All teams could foreseeably finish last or first.
not to say they are weak, but comparing to the other 3 age groups they definitely have been the weakest. The As may be strong but they lack depth into the B’s,C’s and Ds
