Had a sad discussion with a Brisbane mate over Easter. He called out "Queenslander" at me and I didn't get it, but I was wearing a recent Reds "Traditional" jersey in maroon. On rugby his thoughts were "yeah, what happened to those guys, they used to be big".

I miss 2011.

I have the same at work. I’m the rugby update on Monday for everyone. My boss was rattling Tahs of the 2003-2006 era off for fun but could only name Michael Hooper and Nawaquinatawse because he’s gone to the NRL and he follows the Roosters and wanted to know if he’s any good.

Rugby exists in a pocket now no different to Soccer fans tbh. The sooner we’re comfortable with it the sooner I think the game can grow from it and not think they are fighting with the NRL and AFL.
