Waratahs 2025

That game disappeared with three bits of awful backline defense in 7 minutes. Two were just plain poor tackles, and one was a disintegration of the system after a turnover.

The Tahs urgently need to consider if O'Donnell and Creighton can be trusted to defend in the channels they are being asked to defend. If you are relying on Kellaway in d to save the day, it's not going to be a good day

Let Edmed go to the Brumbies and get on the phone to Will Harrison and apologise. Get him back.
Creighton and Bowen are not the answer.
It aint our tens thats the problem. When wallaby forwards are watching players run past them unlocking the backline is the least of our worries.

The problem with the inside backs at the Tahs at the moment is their defence, not unlocking the backline.
It isn't helped by dropping a new set in, defence is as much about connection, knowing instinctively what your centre partner is going to do

Creighton Wilson O'Donnell looked really solid for a few

We then lose O'Donnell for a match

We then lose Wilson for a match gaining back O'Donnell

We need to pick and stick ................... and trust the process

The reality is that there is no one in this lot who is markedly better, they need to be the glue that allows the strike options to excel

Think you mean Walton.... not Wilson.

I guess it makes more sense now that Jorgo is not fit but... why is JAS not at centre? He can actually defend the 13 channel (at a test level no less).
His defence at 13 for the Wallabies was pretty suspect. Beyond that he'd be wasted at 13 in this tahs backline. From 15 (or wing) he can inject himself in the attack as he pleases and is available to chase the contestable kicks.

I don't really agree. I thought he defended well and I expect he could be effectively used in attack from the centres too.

It's true that he can pick and choose his moments more from fullback. But he also has to cover the backfield and play for territory... which there is no evidence he can do.

I'd prefer not to go down the Folau route with the bloke and end up with a team that's carrying a known weakness. I could see wing but the Tah's (and Wallabies) have wingers.

Agreed, he showed he can be an effective attacking threat from the centres. Drawing 2 defenders and getting an offload away or in the air attacking contestable kicks. We are missing a strong centre, we have plenty of outside backs that can play test level.
