Apparently Wright off for 'precautionary' shoulder scan this week...

“Liam got a knock on the shoulder in the first half (against the Crusaders),” Kiss said.
“We’re investigating it further … as a precaution to make sure we get it right in terms of what it is.
“He’s in as positive a state of mind as he can be. It would weigh on anyone’s mind when that happens, but … we’re just being supportive.

“The locker room is right behind him.”

All the Reds fans watching a BOK masterclass last week are going to be stoked when they read we've got the pleasure of an 80 minute Doleman panic attack to look forward to this week

I thought the Kiwi's were going to roll out Doleman to try and bail out the Blues again?

Just confirming from the article that it's the same shoulder
Liam Wright is facing another injury lay-off after his troublesome shoulder flared again just two games into his Super Rugby Pacific comeback.

What happened to Nick? He's only 32 but I can't see him playing for the past 5 years.
Turned out for the Force in their covid reintroduction year but retired after that. Works a 9 to 5 now for a company that does promo products in Brisbane. I imagine he might have played on a bit longer if it wasn't for covid, but for a guy whose game was built on speed he didn't necessarily have a long time left. Particularly not given his fondness for the social side of the game.

Shoulder injuries end careers sadly. Such a heavy use but intricate joint with quite a high rate of re-occurrence. I hope it's nothing major but there has to be some alarm bells ringing in regards to Wright from inside the Reds.

Looking at his season by season stats and he gets on the park for the Reds every year but breaks down at some point or by the end of the year is busted completely. The she'll be right thing doesn't work once your'e 27. Hope it's nothing and he seemed calm about when asked.

Rugby isn't high profile enough. Go get him on the Russian mineral water...

shame about Wright

The battle of the benches has begun

Quite interested in how a few of the pigs go,

Can Talataina and Kalapu back up with quality shifts

Can Vailanu get his lineout back on track

Can Tupou do more stuff while limiting his errors

If he can just limit his errors that would be great.

Would depend on how much he has trained there. I suggest him because I assume they've been building him out to offer that utility (it seems reasonable and he's spent some time on the wing), but I don't know for sure one way or the other. I do think his skill set would help with a few of the issues we're seeing from Murray, though it only works if he's not coming in completely fresh to the position.
Too Short Wests targeted him with Bombs in the QPR last season and got a fair bit of pay from it

10 years since that happened?

edit - was this debacle of a game in 2015 The bad guys won 23-5.

double edit - there's probably a good PHD thesis analysising the Reds v tahs crowds from 1996 to 2025

Saturday night game, 28c Sunny day forecast. 2nd vs 5th Local derby battle of the potential Wallabies coach.

I keep hearing and reading that Super rugby is a breathe of fresh air in 2025. What excuses will there be for people not showing up this week to support Queensland, Australias most entertaining team?
