Congrats to the brumbies! Really enjoyed the game, wasnt the pretty game ever but that lack of scoring in the second half reflected how physical both sides were in defence. Thought the brumbies were deserved winners at the end of the day.. the blues looked a bit directionless in the second half and i wonder how much the loss of BB effected them.

By now its pretty clear that this could be one of the most competitive season of super rugby in years. Really makes a big difference when there's not such a gulf between the top sides and the rest of the field. Im loving it

Fun game to watch. I’m very happy the Brumbies won because they bossed that 2nd half and the scoreboard didn’t reflect it.

Weird to see an Aus team with such great tactical kicking and the kiwi team with abysmal kicking. That combined with the Brumbies turnover ability was the winning factor. At lineout and rucks, was glorious.

very nice to see Bernie so happy too!

I know Meredith kicked well, but the Brums backs looked like they'd never met before for most of that game. Part of that was individual errors from Ikitau that he has never made before but the combinations are miles off.

Which after that win is a good thing as theres plenty of improvement in them.
I think the Brumbies are a good enough side to beat the blues. the fact they won playing footy like that says more about the blues than the Brumbies. Meredith had a great game

Solid win by the Brumbies. Better balanced pack, and would be thankful Beaugan Barrett went off at halftime because he looked seriously in form*

The Blues pack did not look balanced, and had no on-ballers. A couple of players worked hard and the rest just did dumb, lazy shit.

Blues scored from a missed tackle here and there.

Ponies scored from sheer hard work and better kicking.

I read with surprise that Rory Scott has 32 caps for ACT. Seems to always be a newbie but fk me dead he put some bigger men to shame tonight.

*except his goal kicking. FMD what a terrible attempt that penalty was. I could have gotten closer.
We missed Scott verse the Force.. he puts in a massive effort every game.. his ball running come on this year too.. no vaintini as he doesn't win contact.. but his going flat out

I don’t like to criticise a player’s physique, but Feao Fotuaika looks SERIOUSLY unfit
Must be on the ice creams again

Well super games keep giving this year, bloody entertaining game. Brumbies ,I thought, deserved winners. Blues seemed to want to prove that BB is not their problem as is trendy to say, their problem is a disconnected forward pack and Plummer is a bit of a carthorse at 10 ,I think anyway. Their forwards (like first games) are just not hunting as a pack, it's criminal how easy it was to get turnovers for Brumbies, and that was simply no cleaners for the Blues. For the Brumbies , they looked much more connected to me and deserved win in the end.

One thing that is coming to light I think (and much as I disliked what happened) the Aussie teams are making it a bloody great comp with one less team!

Well, I'm just glad that horrifyingly unedifying experiment in mercenary kickbot failure/dynastic ruination has drawn to a close.

Bye Bye Beaudy. Best of luck in Japan.

That's a second massive away win for the Brumbies this season. To be 2-2 at this point with the draw they've had, I reckon the coaching staff would have taken that.

The pack was outstanding I thought. I saw a bit of criticism of Frost, but overall I thought he was bloody excellent, as were the back row. The work at the breakdown was especially notable. Hooper, Scott and Reimer all over the Blues. The scrum lifted significantly in the second half too and they terrorised the Blues line out. The Brums just won it in the tough stuff through sheer graft and hard work.

And all of this at Eden Park.

Which is why I think I enjoyed that win so much. It was the pack and as I think @Dan54 said, their connection. They all worked hard for the entire 80mins. The focus on all the small moments was excellent. If they can marry that forward effort, throw in a returning Noah and Valetini, well there is a lot of upside left in this side. I actually appreciated that players like Wright didn't try to overplay things this game.

I also agree, Meredith had a great game. Debreczeni felt like a step down when he came on. He really should have been able to get that pass away that he knocked on with the overlap. It was a solid tackle, but it looked to my eye that he'd already started to fumble it before contact.

Larkham and his team also seem to be doing well with rotations and managing the squad. It's nice to see faith in all the players, not just the same 15.

He made a few conspicuous errors but agree the pack as a unit was fantastic.
