The backs are who they are at the moment, especially without Sua'ali'i. Competent is probably their ceiling, at least at the moment.

With world class players in Bell and (sometimes?) Tupou, and very good players in Leota and Gleeson, I don't know why you would pivot to "running rugby" at this stage.

The point of difference is clearly the forwards carrying the ball. The rest of the game plan evolves around that

As BH has noted, just as Schmidt did for the Wallabies at the beginning of last year. Simplicity is best then add the variation. We have some dominate runners but they are still one out, itll come the more games they play together.

I think Edmed is a pretty clear first choice.

Given we've scored 9 tries in 2 games and have a lot of new players, I think he (and most of the backline) has a pretty long runway to get things right.

I would definitely like to see him take the ball to the line more. He looks best when he plays pretty direct.
Edmed dropped for the Force game? Or is he injured?

He's on the bench so not injured.

On Creighton’s elevation, McKellar cited the flyhalf’s progress in recent weeks. “Lawson has worked really hard in rehab after arriving with a groin injury.

“He got back to full fitness, played well in the ‘A’ game against the Brumbies Runners [two weeks ago], and has trained really well the last couple of weeks.

“We feel he’s ready to start, and it’s a great opportunity for him.”

Ah yes - missed him being benched.

Bowen needs to find a new team me thinks - he'll get very little game time at the Waratahs?

He's 21 and barely Super Rugby standard at this point.

Where's he going to get more game time? In my view he needs to earn it.

That was a new record for being proven wrong.

It's a little muddy though based on Christy Doran's reporting.

"His sudden call-up has occurred after Tane Edmed battled illness throughout the week, with the one-Test Wallaby dropping back to the bench."

ahhh two from two and you all still complain.. Dan's a good coach, your playing a decent game, still gelling.. least your not 1 from 3 like the Brumbies.

If you're talking to me, I posted a clip from the game I hadn't seen before (and didn't notice live) that I thought others might also find interesting.

Not sure what you think I was complaining about.

Hadn't seen this one on O'Donnell before now. Certainly not pretty.

That's not a good look and should've been picked up, but jeez AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) comes off as a wanker here -
Knee to the head of the tah: terrible, no place in the game for that
Choke hold on a drua player: I love that, play on boys

Good to see Giteau called him on it and condemned both. Feels a bit like the citing commisioner out this game in the too hard basket and moved on, there's a few events that warranted at least an off field yellow, if not a trip to the judiciary.

Yeah but it was a bit rich of the drua to post the neck brace meme. Can’t be posting that when you’re not squeaky clean.
