pretty sure they named teams last year and team was named at training. No Biggie, but just thought no harm in creating a little interest in the game. Realise its not going to be a big draw but if you got a couple hundred people wander down from a post or two is that not worthwhile

It was a pretty good hit out, very willing, plenty of big collisions. Wests had 2 full teams playing, so they ran on a complete fresh side after about 30min and rotated plenty later in the game, so in the Brissy heat it was pretty tough for the development boys. First half was quite good rugby I thought, it got pretty scrappy and loose in the 2nd when most of the development starters came off. Top squad guys all played well with Bryant and Vest playing nearly full games, and King playing big minutes too. Of the academy guys Robinson, Nason and Brosnan were the pick of them. Wests have some big midfielders who can hit and a winger who has serious wheels, not sure on their names. The winger is new, come this year from Italy I heard, very quick

James Tofa has come from NZ manawatu ITM dangerous in the midfield and new kid from Italy is Matthias Douglas previously Italy u20’s and Italy 7’s. Wests have recruited well from all reports lots of new faces!

Thanks for the notes.
Is there a team sheet anywhere?

Bugger. Still it’s good to see this sort of hit out happening. I assume more matches to come in the lead up to hospital cup?
Theres no info from Reds, but joining the dots from club socials looks like the Development team will play Sunnybank and Brothers over the next few weeks

Seems there were a couple of other trial matches on Saturday too. Souths were playing the Nerang Bulls,
and Sunnybank were taking on the Surfers Dolphins.
Anyone hear anything about these games?

We$t$ have been good at getting the $tar players over the past few seasons.

They've also got Luke Masirewa who played for the NZ 7's, Byron Smith who was a bit of a schoolboy star for nudgee that headed to Auckland blues academy and southland stags straight out of school instead of playing in qld, Denzel Samoa whos been playing QCup last few years for Souths Logan.

Interestingly, Nick Conway who finished school at nudgee last year (aus schoolboys etc), was playing for the reds academy on the wing against wests who hes playing colts for.
