Good to see City have locked down their Coach for the 2025 Season, I also heard of some signings for the glamour club too.

Is Wagga City the "Glamour Club" you are referring to or is it another Club in the SIRU Comp.?
It will be interesting to see what Teams Leeton nominate for in 2025
My how the times have changed. When have City ever been thought of as the Glamour Club?

The Glamour Club is where the boys from the College go to when they graduate, get a Mrs and a mortgage while they decide what colour to paint the nursery.

Where’s TAFKA “Bubba” @Bubba 2.0 when you need him?

Congratulations to Paul Spain for putting his hand up for the Presidents role for SIRU, Warwick Grant has been at the helm for a while now and deserves a break.

What do you reckon should be Spainy’s first step?

Lamond trades colours, ready to attack new coaching role at crosstown rival

Not Good News for Ag College leading into the 2025 Season. At this stage Waratahs look odds on to win a hat trick of premierships next year !

You heard it here first ;)

Am I right in reading that the SIRU response to having 7 First Grade sides is to have a 12 round season starting 3rd of May? If so, I think it’s completely the wrong direction.

For most clubs that will be a 4 month pre-season. Most other comps will be already started so good luck finding trial matches outside of SIRU in the lead-up to kickoff.

The other major codes will 1 or 2 months into their season - greatly reducing RU footprint in the local areas.

Young men and women want more sport not less - give them what they want.

I’d prefer to see an 18 round season where everyone plays each other 3 times. 18 rounds isn’t a big season in the scheme of things.

2 rounds of 6 games. At the end of round 1 have a Seniors gala day where all teams play at Connoly using a random draw. At the end of round 2 do the same. Have a social function at Romanos or another venue on those end of round gala days. 2x6 =12 rounds. 2x1 gala day rounds =2 rounds. 14 rounds altogether.

So Waratahs and city receive more money through gate fees and there sponsor pubs get more while other clubs receive nothing? Assuming the gala day includes every men's grade game and women's game? Seems like Tahs is already spending some of there incoming cash given recent reports.

Wagga is central to other clubs. Clubs should socialise more. That’s what rugby is about. A couple of gala days followed by a night out is what the Dr ordered. Financials worked out some how.

Griffith coach Lama Lolotonga. Anyone else get the feeling the upcoming season could be somewhat predictable. Waratahs have an embarrassment of riches. City a bit behind Tahs and Aggies/Tumut behind City. A gap then to Reddies. Albury and Griffith cellar dwellers.

How about Drew and Tom on the RRR poddy - great work fellas :)

Are they as handy as Mick and House though? Production quality on RRR is high in comparison :D ;)

Should there be a mashup SIRU/Riverina/Steamers youtube series in the making? Netflix pitch perhaps?
