As it stands they're playing the last team to beat the top qualifier which perhaps means they're not necessarily a lesser team. Other than not having six qualifiers I'm not sure there's really a neat & tidy solution.

Finally made the 1200m trek to the My High (as the locals say it) for Sunday lunch & a bit of Keno. Would be a great place to watch a game, big screens everywhere, I can see six from where I'm sitting.

Relocating to the GC mid-week for the main events of the trip being father-in-law's 80th birthday dinners (Wednesday for immediate family, Saturday open to whoever rsvp's in time). In the event our apartment doesn't have Stan, is the game likely to be on 9 or their second channel? Pretty close...

100% @Lindommer. Interestingly the mad-keen Tribe fans I was with last night were a bit bemused & even a little sheepish about it.

Not sure about years but hard to see too many bars & restaurants opening until the stadium is largely complete & people can get in & out properly. Google maps indicates hospo is still mostly in Manchester St & back towards the city centre.

I think next year is too soon. The accommodation & hospitality precinct around the stadium is literally work in progress & the existing infrastructure is too far away compared to Brisbane or Melbourne.

Plenty of discussion on other threads wrt whether Tribe, having failed to take advantage of home-ground advantage v Blues should retain it but OTOH maybe Brums should've won a game or two more during the regular season...

Canberra looked mostly vacant last night... Shit weather pretty much right up to kickoff would've deterred a lot of people. Hopefully they get better weather on Friday plus Loss Bleus will be more of a draw than Reds were.
