Yeah - I see a lot of potential with Canham but I think he has some work to do. I thought Swain had the better season. Very different types of player so maybe that has something to do with it. But also Swain doesn’t seem able to win Schmidt over.

If only we’d both waited another hour before posting.

Yeah - but the choice here is really between Foley, JOC (James O'Connor) & Edmed as to who comes in now that Lolesio is out in the event that 1-2 more 10s go down. Edmed has obviously had at least some time with the squad but I see the value in an older head, so long as that isn’t all they are bringing to the...

    Wallabies 2025

My comment above does come across like that. He definitely isn’t the player he was previously and agree with your take here as to where he is at. I just disagree with the comment that my take on Foley v JOC (James O'Connor) comes down to State loyalty. If anything I think the opposite is true. Foley gets a lot...

Personally I thought the last 2 yrs Donaldson started Super very well and got worse over the season. I thought Lynagh was the better player this year. But I also think Lynagh should be held back at this stage. Lynagh is not a brash young 10 whose youth and daring could be a virtue here. I think...

My problem with Foley is that his kicking game in hand is substandard, from the tee is inconsistent, he is a very poor defender - even for a 10 and he doesn’t have a great long passing game. His strength has always been his running and short passing. Under Cheika who didn’t want us to kick, he...

    Wallabies 2025

Across the series it’s inevitable we are going to lose 2-3 more players to injury (probably more). There is a pretty decent possibility whoever gets called in will end up in the 23 at some point.

Agree - the difference is that he was hampered by injury so, for me at least, I hold some hope he is still capable of contributing at test level. I don’t see that in Foley. His issues extend well beyond the penalty he gave up.

I can’t get onboard with Foley, even as a mentor option. Even if they bring someone in as a mentor they should be capable of competing for a spot in the 23. He has been terrible the last two times they have tried him for the Wallabies so I really don’t want to see him in Gold again.

Wallabies v Fiji, Sunday, 6 July, 1:30pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle

Sure - but most players also did plenty well. Tate’s passing was pretty spot on and his running game was a big part of what looked good in the first half. Frost got through a truckload of work. Yes - he got run around for the line break that led to the try before half time but most tight...

    Waratahs v British & Irish Lions - Saturday, 5 July @ SFS

One of the great ironies of rugby is listening to the ref tell the front row how to scrum. It’s even worse during the game when your half back starts giving the front rowers pointers.

I thought Tupou looked a bit unlucky - but because he sets up on the angle he is always at risk of getting called. I believe on the second penalty he was called for dropping his bind. Like you say, the camera angle makes it hard to judge. Sadly we aren’t seeing the Tupou of old who powered...

    Waratahs v British & Irish Lions - Saturday, 5 July @ SFS

It was a really odd comment which just left him a bit open to ridicule. Not much in if really but after the week of quite a bit of questioning re bringing Owen in, and then the performance last night he’s not had his finest week.

I don’t understand comments like this. You obviously watch enough rugby to know the quality of the players on the field last night. What’s the logic writing a comment like this? All it does is make you seem ignorant or a troll. My impression of your posts have been that your are more...
