    Reds v Hurricanes

Congrats to Trevor King. Certainly a baptism of fire but everything I’ve heard about the young man has been positive. And he’s playing prop - so baptism of fire is kinda par for the course/right of passage.

    Wallabies 2025

I was very critical of Waugh’s appointment but I am quite happy to eat humble pie. I think the landscape is as challenging as ever and will continue to make Phil & Dan earn their salaries but from my view in the cheap seats they are getting a lot right.

    Queensland Reds 2025

If they can get a couple of reinforcements back then I think the Reds have to back themselves to have a crack. This isn’t to say that they should rush Flook back at all but I think we have to have some faith with the medical staff.

So, correct me if I’m wrong but we now have Gibbon & Hodgman out on potentially career ending injuries, plus Blake & De Lutiis out for the rest of Super as well as Faessler. Our next squad prop would be Trevor King, wouldn’t it. Great young prospect but can’t say I could see him as being an...

Any word on De Lutiis’ injury?

Lol - we are nothing if not predictable.

    Waratahs v Crusaders 16/05/25

Kellaway’s point of difference used to always be that he read play well, made good decision, worked hard off the ball and rarely made mistakes. He doesn’t seem to be that player anymore.

I know a lot of comments in here should be taken with a grain of salt. But… Brumbies deserve to be favourites, especially at home and given they stuck it to Qld at Suncorp, but I think the Recs still have a good crack. The hype about the Reds at the start of the year wasn’t that they had a...

Oh yeah. I was extremely happy when they signed both of them. I still remember the day I read Hunt had been done for drugs and the disappointment - although to be fair to him the fact that I was bunkering down waiting for cyclone Marcia to hit probably makes the whole thing stick out in my mind.

Yes indeed. Don’t worry - I’m painfully aware of how those couple of investments went.

Financially I thought that RA bailed the Refs out at least twice in that time. I also thought the tipped in to help secure the likes of Hunt & Vunivalu. And retaining Cooper at one point in there. Unfortunately the first two didn’t really work out. Really disappointing to lose Blyth but on the...

    Wallabies 2025

I feel a bit like Porecki is one of those guys whose standing has risen whilst he’s spent time on the sideline. I clearly don’t rate him as highly as some - neither here nor there I know. But my recollection was that last time he was in the Wallabies there were plenty of people calling for him...

    Queensland Reds 2025

On the one hand it shows the value of the additional depth this year that we aren’t running out clubbies. On the flip side having 10 Wallabies on the injured list certainly takes a lot of the punch away which could be costly over the next 3 weeks. Anyway - it’s part of footy and at least guys...

Largely agree. But if Faessler & BPA are out injured than that only leaves (from memory) Nasser & Pollard as guys with recent tests. And Nasser’s season has been pretty disrupted too. I’m not sure that Porecki’s handful of tests played two years ago under different coaches are going to get that...

    Wallabies 2025

I dunno. For me he’s been the same as he’s always been. He’s steady but no more. He got a gig with the Wallabies when the cupboard was bare and with a forwards coach who had background with him. Guys like Pollard, Lonergan & Asiata have all improved and bring more IMO and he doesn’t have the...
