Maybe I misunderstand your post BR but you seem to be suggesting that she decisions to kick for goal as opposed to going for line was a factor in our loss. I’ve got to say that’s a pretty long bow. At the very least there are quite a few other factors that were much more significant.

And yet a number of people afterwards were critical that Wilson turned down additional shots at goal. To me Bledisloe 2 was a classic demonstration that whichever way you go, some people will always think you did the wrong thing. Especially if you lose.

I’m pretty sure he came out and said exactly that. Pretty sure Lynagh is also on record as saying that after the 2024 Super Season one of Schmidt’s bits of feedback to him was his goal kicking needed to improve.

How much is a marquee signing in the MLR making though? I think the family ties might be the bigger issue. You’d imagine if he was chasing coin then he’d find a home easy enough in Japan, the UK or France.

Like the idea. He’d be a great addition to the squad.

You’d imagine at the very least the Reds weren’t sure on Gordon and probably felt they couldn’t afford to wait. I’t would be great if HMP were to stick around and fight for his spot. You’d think he remains a realistic bench option at least. But you can also see how this might be the perfect...

I don’t think so. But I don’t think that is the point.. At the time that they signed him the point was whether he was worth a spot in the squad to give depth at 10 and sone coverage elsewhere. Plus it doesn’t hurt to add a bit of experience to the playmaking stiocks. I think the comparison...

He might prevent losses though if we have a couple of injuries. Especially if McLaughlin-Phillips does go.

Christy suggesting the return of Gordon likely to result in HMP moving to the Tahs.

I think it was easier for Smith though working in backlines - particularly the ABs - where he had quality halves and was surrounded by strike weapons. I do think Flook makes those around him better though.

Flook has always seemed to have plenty of speed to me. Maybe the leg injuries have slowed him a little but I’m not sure he lacks pace. Just size.

One of the great things about pre-season is working out how to get all your squad members in the 23 and working out who will miss out. Then the season hits and we end up in a position asking who is floating around clubland that might be able to step up. :) Seriously though - despite my...

I get all of that and largely agree. If he does come though and all of the 10s stay fit think, for better or worse, Kiss has to pick one and largely stick to him. There is always a bit of room for rotation - particularly on the subs bench. But I don’t think chopping and changing over the...
