NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

Well I'm curious what "culture" is already present as I recall from the View v Newington game at The Swamp there were only ~12 boys who had turned out in the stands for Newington 1XV. I think that already by creating a team that isn't fully comprised of homegrown talent, you end up alienating...

As someone supporting the GPS side your boys played very well and were most certainly deserving of a win against GPS, looks like the future is bright for some strong competition which should help sharpen everyone's ability and elevate the quality of rugby for all teams.

I don't think it's right to label any of the boys as "pathetic" that's more than a low blow, and it seem you've had issues with that particular selection and have made your opinion known multiple times. No need to demean anyone else's view on here, as always we need to be open to debate and...

Being there you could see the disappointment on a lot of the GPS boy's faces after the game, but I was surprised by some of them (from GPS) who seemed completely unbothered by the poor game they put forth, this felt wrong especially since there are boys from other teams who would take their...

On reflection with last night's performance I do feel some frustration as the actions/mindsets of many players who already have some guarantee of a pathway selection end up messing with the ability of the GPS 1s to play as a team. From a selector standpoint you want to see who plays well but...

The scrum's performance in the second game was much stronger, even winning the opponent's scrums at least once. Scrumming can be tricky when you're doing it with players from separate teams but they clearly are learning from their faults as they go. As for the first game there was a multitude of...

Taking into account the discourse over the last few pages it's clear talent can change significantly between now and next season. I think it'll be tough to predict the outcome with most GPS teams going into this second half of the season given recent developments alone. Also watching all this...

The disillusionment that players feel because of things like this will see them take their talent elsewhere, why bother working hard to make it into a higher team here? if they have already made up their mind because a certain player was good when they were 16 or 17yo then why bother? Adversity...

Agreed, it prioritizes previous standing and not naming names it was clear that this leads to apathy as seen yesterday, it doesn't incentivize improvement it just bolsters egos and complacency. If we want the best out of our junior players we should select the best right now, not select someone...

It did feel like GPS I were lucky to hold onto their lead, CAS played much more enterprising rugby in the second half and really went for it. The energy and momentum was fully with them for most if not all of the second half.

By no means a full list but I am aware both 11 and 14 in GPS 1 are ineligible.

Not sure about GPS white but I was told by someone in the GPS Blue team that they definitely are playing country and not SJRU.

23 would be required for a standalone team or when you don't want to risk running out of players (say if you have 2 teams), GPS instead has a larger pool of 25 selected in the GPS White team that can come and plug the gaps in the squads above if there are any injuries. It's quite smart because...

Sure, but the original post referred to the year 11 count, and while labeling View as being last is true it's deceptive, second place only has a single win more than last. View has struggled with form but are effectively with the pack and having double as many year 11s is still a significant...
