Yes of course, the issue is in principle as there should be enough referees that you don't have to allocate old boys to referee their school's games, AR would be alright but ideally at 1st XV level all-neutral refs would be ideal.

Great job to all teams this season and all the boys who put the time in and gave it a red hot go. Small sidenote but in the final game between View & Joeys I am curious how you can have a Joey's old boy refereeing 1sts games for his alma mater. Some of the View boys had been quite vocally...

My take is that New has a small contingent of very strong players, but lacks the same depth as some of the other sides. It's an issue they have through the younger age groups too. If you lack depth in your 2nd XV or substitutes, then when you see key players injured, there is a much larger skill...

I wouldn't say "luck", if I recall correctly both of those tries were scored by Folkes who consistently scores from those scrappy moments, did similar things against Kings and other teams this season. If luck is capitalising on opponents' unforced errors then View are primed to do more of that...

Really would've thought 7. Dempsey from Riverview would be on this list, put in an absolute shift.

The View boys play for each other, and have played together for years through primary school and high school, regardless of bursaries, they didn't have to bring anyone in to help them win this premiership, they developed the talent themselves. You can say all you want, but as has been said View...

Exactly, the View boys waited and only after waiting a few minutes then moved into position to get ready for kick off (in the rain) meanwhile there was no Scots players on the field yet. I don't think they're the ones to be questioned on sportsmanship in that case.

I'm pretty sure he is in terms of 100m time, runs a 10.72.

Even as a view supporter, I have refereed before and the View vs Scots game was the most one-sided refereed match I have seen either in-person or on tv. The conduct of the referee and touch judges was simply atrocious, and I expect them to be formally reviewed for such incompetence. Scots were...

I agree, in fact when I looked into it, some Joey's supporter in March had changed every premiership from 1892-1916 to be SJC premierships, and a bunch of other random years too (including 2014,16,17). I've gone through and fixed all the ones I could find but it is insane that someone can just...

Apologies, was referencing the wikipedia page which seems to have listed SJC as winners in 2014, 16, and 17. I have since edited the wikipedia page to be correct and my original post.

    In ascending order of time since last outright premiership: Shore - 2024 Kings - 2023 Joeys - 2022 Scots - 2017 Newington - 2012 Riverview - 2011 -- And formerly -- High - 1973 Grammar - 1967

These are schoolkids who's brains are still developing, there shouldn't be tolerance for even one, yet multiple instances of using enough force to knock someone out fully unconscious. There are players of similar size to Lemoto who do not knock people out every other week or dish out season...

Well I'm curious what "culture" is already present as I recall from the View v Newington game at The Swamp there were only ~12 boys who had turned out in the stands for Newington 1XV. I think that already by creating a team that isn't fully comprised of homegrown talent, you end up alienating...

As someone supporting the GPS side your boys played very well and were most certainly deserving of a win against GPS, looks like the future is bright for some strong competition which should help sharpen everyone's ability and elevate the quality of rugby for all teams.
