NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

If you are implying the coach of the 2s was the block then you are wrong. I’ll leave it at that .

The politics angle seems unlikely, the coach that picked him in the 1s this year would have been a major voice in leaving him in 3s last year. Sometimes selections are too pick and stick, and early in year 11 he would not have been ranked ahead of the 2s players. He was certainly given a go in...

I spend a lot of time at the Park on Saturdays. the pies are good and the entertainment is free.

O’Connor has been the one of the biggest improvers I have ever seen, U15 he wasn’t even a certainty to get selected for the As. U16s saw most of his cohort move to opens a year early. First year in Opens he was stuck in the thirds. This year he was recognised as best back. He does have size...

reminding the boys of the many years in the desert between premierships.

a touch pedantic my friend. Outright Premiers and Premiers are one in the same, otherwise they’d be…. joint premiers. Nice to see View chalk one up, it often surprises me they haven’t won more often.

i think the points system works for Colts at this point in time. The very strongest clubs are forced to play their best colts in grade. I’d also encourage boys to go to clubs where they won’t cruise into first grade. if you want to progress the competition for places is very healthy.

as much as i hate the idea i suspect you are right, the AAGPS as we know it is near the end of it’s useful life. perhaps an association conference followed by playoffs with a longer season for elite level players is inevitable. i don’t know where that leaves the d or e grade player who is the...

I’m sad to say Newington won’t play Joeys in 13A or 15A fixtures this weekend. The start off the slippery slope or a blip?

full body launched, both feet off the ground, shoulder direct to the head, nothing to debate about this particular hit and absolutely zero mitigation.

NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

The AAGPS has a problem if it lets the events go unsanctioned. There are thousands of witnesses and very clear footage to the event where the Joeys winger had his head taken off. A senior Super Rugby official told me that in the professional game there would have been a minimum 4 week penalty. the...

as a Joeys old boy i think it is embarrassing that it happened at all, no qualification, no excuses.

Shore only repeat seasons like last year every 50 years or so.

Australian Schools & Junior Rugby Championships - Sunshine Coast, 2025

They 100% should play, the pathways managers justify it by saying it is about load management. The U20’s game versus South Africa recently tells you how load management is going. The African players are mostly playing full time in europe vs our approach, a warm up tournament and a few managed...

I agree 100% with recent posts, Waratahs pathways management is conflicted, corrupt and clueless. The PONI is a horse named Mediocrity, a broken down nag rested for the Hay picnic races.
