And that is the issue for a number of Grammar teams, that in the older age groups, you tend to be defined by your weaker players rather than your stronger ones. Plus a couple of injuries and the team can change from solid to average.

It’s the 15s age group who have a winning record and even they have lost matches. 16s are definitely not undefeated. 2 years ago, they beat most C teams. Last year, they generally lost to B teams.

Can I pls ask that you set up a separate thread for the tipping comp. It’s tough on the rest of us who have to get through pages of tipping posts that is irrelevant to those not in the tipping comp.

I don’t know but apparently he is in Year 10 as well as Hannon.

It was a tough day but some of the lower age games were more competitive that the score suggests eg the 14s played with 13 players against a squad of 20+ and it was 7 all for most of the first half. 16Bs played short for large parts of the game too.

Very weak year but last year was the best age group for some time. However there are very few players in Years 7 and 8 so potentially the start of a trend. Years 9-11 have some strength and depth so the next few years will be better than this one but the long term is a concern.

I believe Trinity's best up and coming team is their 15As who had a 14 all draw with Joeys this past weekend.

Is it that radically different from a ball that hits the goal posts that would have otherwise gone dead? Noting the goal posts are not on the perimeter of the field. Or from the player in touch that is allowed to knock the ball?

I believe High had 4 opens team last year so. Definitely at least 3 as I saw their 3rds play last year. No intention to have a crack at High but I believe they have less rather than more year on year.

yes - IMO it's a form of obstruction as they have no "intent" to compete for the ball and they are preventing the other team from competing for the ball. It's a game based on competiton. What option does the chasing team have? They can't push them or tackle them. It's completely unfair to the...

    Refereeing decisions

They players know what they are doing is blocking. Otherwise they would run back behind the player to be able to support the next phase. The game / referees could get rid of this with a couple of penalties. If players were penalised as part of a 4 man wall, they wouldn't complain. They would...
